Missed the game yesterday, but just watched the highlights on NHL Network. Hopefully they're finally putting it all together. Great to see Sharp finally convert on a break away, and two points from B52 including a nice snipe for his second goal was great to see as well. Too bad he's a bum who doesn't deserve to dress .

Good for him. He's a guy who seemed to have the serious respect of his teammates AND management - not always an easy thing to accomplish.

Yesterday's game easy to watch. Feel sorry for Ladd and Big Buff. Ladd probably never getting out of there, but wouldn't be surprised if Buff is moved for future young up and comer an some picks.

Chevy's got his work cut out for him. Wonder if Haviland is next coach there.

I still believe Havvy had the job a couple of years ago and something happened behind the scenes that tipped it to Noel.

They have a choice to make though because Noel is not getting the right results with this team. Do you move some players or change the coach. You have to think Bubba, Ladd and Frolik would welcome Havvy.

At the same time, I see the argument for them moving Buff for a big return. Someone would give it.

Loved the point bombs, the Sharp shimmy and the play Kruger made to spring B-52 And I seeing the Hawks win on HNIC.

Speaking of HNIC, here's the wicked Pavel Bure/game night set up they rolled last night..in case you missed it. Canadian band from yesteryear named Chilliwack and their hit "Fly at Night," to propel this masterpiece. ENJOY.

Great game by the Hawks. Way to go Bollig, he is looking good.

I personally would do one switch in the lines. Swap Hossa and Kane. I think this would make the second line more defensively responsible and not cost the offense. Also, Hossa would help Saad and Pirri with puck possession while re-uniting the Toews-Kane-Sharp line of awesomeness.

IMO the Jets are in NHL Hell. They're not contenders or even close to being contenders but they do have some solid players so their mgmt and fans may think they're only a few players away from being contenders (they're not though). I think they should rebuild and sell off guys like Buff and Ladd who will probably sign elsewhere when their deals are up in a few years for younger cheaper talent that WPG will have control over for a long time. Otherwise they're basically morphing into the Midwest Calgary Flames.

I wrote similar today....Can't get by with one line and they have no identity.
New coach coming is my guess and wouldn't surprise me if it was Mike Haviland.

I think the overriding influence that got Noel the job was he ties with the Manitoba Moose being their head coach.

Teams almost always want to promote from within if it is close...And that's what I heard happened in this case. Noel had former NHL head coaching experience as well.

I wrote today Haviland could get his chance as he is behind the bench in Hershey.

Best game of year for Kruger and best game ever at the dot imo.

Hey Phil. Watching those Bure highlights, one thing I noticed was how powerful of a skater he was, not just fast. I always remembered Pavel scoring breakaway goals being miles behind the dman, as if he was cheating to get behind them. Now seeing it again, he was just so explosive that when he's even with that dman, he pulls ahead so quickly and he was usually fighting through a stick or two.
They always do a nice job with those video tributes at cbc

>Really enjoying how much Sharp is reminding me of a younger version of Teemu Selanne
>I have an old tape of Selanne's rookie record 76 goal season -- tape shows most of those goals -- and the incredible variety of ways Selanne scores
>One thing you quickly learned about Selanne was his uncanny ability to burst without the puck -- at just the right time -- and at just the right angle in the neutral zone -- to create a breakaway during "normal" play -- Sharp did it yesterday
>Sharp has been outstanding this year without the puck and is now also starting to score in many more ways than just blasting by the goalie -- like Selanne does
>Sharp is reading the situation better and putting the puck where the goalie can't stop it -- like the goal against Backstrom from the side of the net along the goal line at Minny -- very Teemu-like
>Hope Sharp continues to channel Teemu -- having great linemates who can take advantage of what Sharp is doing makes it all the more possible

Good article - and you are 100% correct on the Emery-Holtby issue.

I don't like fighting in the game, I think it's unnecessary and serves no purpose (certainly not deterrence), but it is part of the current game, so if two players want to go, they'll go with no repercussions.

But if the other guy absolutely doesn't want to fight, and the "instigator" keeps coming and just buries him (with, by the way, only a half-hearted effort by the referees to stop the carnage), the league must step in. Suspension earned by Emery, suspension should be delivered by the league to him.

AND to the coach AND the the team.
