So are there any decent rumors out there, not the dumb ones like for Yakupov or Sedin sisters etc?

Bill,
the flyers picked an awful year to be bad w/ the cap crunch. i don't see significant deals ready made for them, just tinkering types. iow, they mostly have to suck it up and play better.

i repeat:

coyotes goalie mike smith has more goals than giroux, voracek, hartnell, read, and coots. combined. 8 games played.

Mostly dumb ones.

BTW, the Sedins have a distant cousin in their own hometown who is a close friend of mine and does broadcasting/video work with the Modo team. I have been following their careers from afar since they were about 15 or so. So you will never hear me disrespecting them. There is virtually zero shot they get traded here -- though I'd never say never -- but I would get a kick out if it.

No way..would have never realized given the fact that those players are struggling right now.

We have all seen it before. Giroux will score some lucky goal that bounces off 3 players and the flood gates will open. THey just need to keep going until that happens.

I agree.

Also if you are going to be so bad that you could get the first pick the draft, with all due respect to Reinhart and the other current candidates (Ekblad, Nylander, etc)., I'd rather it be in McDavid's draft year.

keep going is all they CAN do. although they didn't look like they were going against the pens in the 2nd the other night.

Hey Flyers fans I don't watch many of your games and I require help for fantasy;

Should I drop Mark Streit? Best FA options are Carlson, Beauchemin or Bieksa.

+/- doesn't count only goals and assists

Hi Bill, great job as always

I am not a proponent of rushing into a deal or making a trade just to shake things up. Furthermore with the little I've seen of McGinn and Raffl, I think the pieces are already in place for a successful forward corps once Lacavalier and Hartnell return.

The D, however, is a concern to me. Coburn and Gustafsson are the only 2 in that group that are at least average or above average skaters. The rest of the D is just too slow. With that being said, I think it would be wise to look to a team that needs a defensive dman and perhaps try to package Grossmann in a deal for a faster puck moving dman.

Thoughts?

The Flyers goal scoring can only get better, and the coaching staff might have finally realized Streit should be running the top PP unit instead of Kimmo.

So I would hang to Streit for a little longer.

Again I will state that they need to rid themselves of the Hartnell contract. Injuries aside he has been poor the last 2 years and if we can get some cap relief from that contract for the next few years it will be easier on them. $4.75 cap hit for the next five years is a huge hit for what he can bring. If they continue to keep him on Giroux's line and he can't keep up to the pace of play it really hinders Giroux's ability in my opinion.

hartnell's contract is fine if he's on the 2nd/3rd line but to rely on him to be a top line player is too much

bill,
i understand you not wanting to be disrespectful, but if he was good at his job the team would not be LAST in the league after a cup final appearance 2 seasons ago.
it's be better just to omit any value judgement and write "his moves didn't work out" or some other observation. homer is a good guy by all accounts, but saying he is not bad at his job, when every hockey fan in the world can point to 100 mistakes he has made, is kind of disrespectful to the fans of the team.

I'll help right now trade coburn and Simmonds while they have value.

Simmonds is supposed to be a gritty winger but constantly loses board battles and turns pucks over

Coburn has not played with any heart or brains in 3 years
