3rd game in and the first with Torts behind the bench. Anybody know the line up for tonight yet?

Gaunce has been 1 of the better players so far and they reward him by putting on the 4th line
That second line should be a line to watch

why do they bother dressing Jensen if they are just putting him on the 4th line? Torts wants to see what they can do? Maybe he should talk to his staff, GMMG , watch tape from last year and see where they are projected to play and put them in situations to succeed.

I know it is preseason exhibition, but put Jensen with a centre with more skill and playmaking and a bit more speed than Lain who is projected to be 3rd line c (at best). Maybe Schroeder and Lain should swap wingers.

Who is in goal?

I haven't watched any preseason, but based on reviews Gaunce has done little else but be in the right place at the right time on the two goals. I guess that's impressive in itself, but realistically, if he makes the team it will be in a 3rd/4th line role. Jensen gets a lot of criticism for not sticking out but he is yet to play with an NHL line mate. If I were auditioning these guys I would play them where I thought they might fit in to see if they do. Put Jensen on the LW with Kelser and Burrows and see how he does.

You beat me to it

Lack is starting, Canatta to back up. Erikson sent down so the job is basically Lack's

I'm interested to see how Sauve plays, is this his first action of the preseason?

Didn't this happen under AV too?

At least give the kids a fighting chance. By consensus, if you are going to keep a skilled kid in the lineup for the regular season, it is not going to help their development by burying them on the 4th line.

Isn't it just crazy that Luongo was signed to the long contract- maybe never had as good a goalie in recent years, gotta lock him up and then you look at the prospect pool in goal - Lack, Canatta, Erikson, and having traded away the shrugger. just crazy.

Game is at 7pm on CBC, I'm sure the CBC knobs will have plenty to rag on about the Canucks.

I think you're right. Not much has been said about Schroeder but if we're going to have a decent year I think he'll be a bigger part of the picture than any of the rookies.

I think it starts 7pm pst.

Not expecting much, looks like the Oil will have 2/3+ of their opening night roster, we are dressing 1/3 of ours. Can't start off tentative like last Wednesday.

oops, too slow.

I struggle to think of who I respect on that panel. They must have a quota for douchebags imposed by the DB Union.

I really don't think any of the rookies will be playing here this year except for maybe Corrado, I mean Orr.

For sho. Although I could see some call-ups come play-off time. I don't really consider Corrado a rookie given his play for us last year.

Is Edler still on this team? I am starting to think Fosco is Edler, they both disappear at the same time.

After seeing Corrado play last year, I almost forget he is a rookie. Tanev was looked at as being the great bargain, if Corrado's development continues, along like we have seen so far, Tanev may quickly become expendable (guessing he didn't get a ntc or nmc with his new contract- ). We need more scoring upfront and was wondering if the defense will be free/encouraged to join the play under Torts' system?

Is Fosco boycotting HB after Esplen's "mutual disagreement"? Random

Hope not, where else are we going to get prospect updates from Europe. He's probably over at HF cooling is jets a little.

What, you don't think Iggy's assessment of our prospects is any good?

I don't read anything that the regular DB's write, so even if it was a fair assessment I wouldn't know about it...

Im hoping Schroeder has a big game tonight. Hope is all on him right now. I dont have much faith in what Gillis will provide us otherwise... MG will make a depth move for another C I'm sure but my optimism is pretty thin that it will be any kind of an impact player.
