Is this roster set in stone?
Add another piece before camp gets started?

I don't know about anybody else, but I simply can not wait any longer for this season to get started! GO HABS GO!

I believe that MB will make 1-2 moves before he start of camp.

I do not think that it will be a trade but I do however think that the habs will be putting someone on waivers and possibly pick up someone fr the 4th line and PK off waivers as well.

My guess is that we will also see a kid step up in camp and possibly make this team as well.

I believe MOEN may be the one that goes. If so I believe that frees up $5mill in cap space.

Kadri sounds interesting....

What is to be unsure about?

Habs needed help on PK, have Emelin currently injured, don't appear to have any Dman ready to step in, needed some size, toughness and did this without giving up assets, term or a large amount of cap space.

Murray is a 1 year stop gap while we wait for Tinordi, Beaulieu, Thrower, Deitz, Nygren to be ready

Thrower is not on that list yet. He probably will play one more year in the WHL. Bennett is a much better prospect than him at this point.

Totally forgot Emelin will be out for a bit. And for only 1.5 mil that makes perfect sense. Leaves us $$ to play with

As to the point of the blog, I suspect we are set other than some waiver stuff or a minor trade as Willey said.

My prediction to start the season:
Pacioretty - DD - Briere
Bourque - Plek - Gionta
Galchenyuk - Eller - Gallagher
Moen/Parros - White - Prust

PK - Gorges
Markov - Tinordi
Diaz - Murray
Bouillon/Drewiski (sp?)

I'd much rather:
Pacioretty - Plek - Gallagher
Bourque - Eller - Gionta
Galchenyuk - Briere - DD

Thrower was injured last year and fought off an injury all season. This here he'll be huge, i guarantee it.

If I was the coach then my line-up would be:

Pacioretty-Plekanec-Briere
Galchenyuk-Eller-Gallagher
Prust-Desharnais-Bourque
Moen-White-Parros

Markov-Emelin (when healthy)
Murray-Subban
Gorges-DIaz

Then Gio slips onto 3rd when h returns.

My thought on D is that people will be gunning for Subban so would like to protect him. Secondly Murray never pinches so Subban would have some freedom. I know Murray is more of a #5 guy but he can be a secondary unit.

Furthermore Gorges-Diaz were used as a shut down pairing for part of th season last year. Now they'd be considered a 3rd pairing D. That's depth.

He's likely going to start in Hamilton I think but don't worry about him. He's going to be a really good one. We saw what injuries can do, look at the regression Leblanc had last year

i doubt it, he hasn't signed an elc and unless he does amazing things in rookie camp, he's going to vancouver to play for don hay.

it was more than the injury. he didn't have a very good year.

Which can't in any way be tied to an injury.

I'm excited to see if Leblanc truly sucks or can become somehting this year. He should be leading the dogs in scoring if he is to ever progress into anything worthwhile.

... it was more than the injury. he was suspended by the coach to start the season for an "incident". not him and 4 teammates for partying or something, just thrower.

he missed almost the whole month of november after being injured in practice, supposedly in an altercation with a teammate. and he did very well immediately before and after his injury, it was in february that his play took another dive.

by all accounts, he was terrible defensively this past season. lost in his zone, i only watched 2 games of his before the mem cup but he was not as impressive as a guy like dietz who managed to have a good season under the same crappy team conditions as thrower.

all i said was that thrower had a subpar year, injuries aside, and that he won't be playing pro this year. not all that outlandish. i like him as a prospect but he had a tough year.

leblanc i think will bounce back. he doesn't have a great stride to start with and he probably came back too early from his high ankle sprain. he wasn't able to deliver last year, but even when palushaj was here he was playing terribly. new coaching staff, the roster was almost completely made up of rookies, and the lockout gave them tougher competition. i think he'll be fine, but he needs to be given top 6 minutes in hamilton.

Horrible defensively doesn't finish 2nd on the team in +/- among Dmen?
No question his play ook a step back. Many people said the same thing about McDonaugh the year he was dealt by the Habs. Just don't worry.

+/- ?

dude come on. useless stat.

in your 4th year in the WHL, you're supposed to be able to take a step up in your play. im not going to say i watched all of his games, but i read reports on his season from people who did (including the guy who does the saskatoon play by play) and he had a bad season, he wasn't just bad in the games i saw him play. his +/- was alright because he was playing very easy minutes while dietz and siemens took on the bulk of the workload defensively. dietz for example went from, i believe -25 to finish the season +9. the coaching staff never really took the pressure of the first pair and they finally got it together as the season went on, but thrower wasn't put in a position to be one of the teams' leaders on the ice last season.

i didnt say i was worried, i didnt say he was a bust, i didn't say trade him away, i really didnt say anything other than he had a crappy year and that he more than likely will be back in the WHL for a 5th season. don't know why that's so hard for you to hear.
i was/am a big mcdonagh fan and he had a mediocre (not terrible) wjc. he never had an entire bad season at wisconsin, but that's really besides the point as i never said thrower's bad season made him a bust.

Here is a stat you guys may want to keep in mind....WE HAVENT WON A CUP IN 20 YEARS! I dont give a F* who we have in the system....are they helping us now? no, we just wasted money on an overage Douglas Murray, and MB thinks this acquisition is part of a "rebuild".... honestly....If they arent in the show NOW, they do us no good on the FARM....
