Thanks Bill. A great read as I wash down my much need morning coffee.

It's nice to see several promising d-men in the pipeline that show some positive upside. And most importantly, that the Flyers will continue (hopefully) to be patient with them.

When you draft d-men, especially in the lower rounds, I'd always look for someone with at least one discernible skill, whether it be skating, good shot/release, high hockey IQ...and let them develop the other necessary skills at the right pace. I'd also make sure they were in the right environment that would allow them to work on their deficiencies and give them a chance to someday make contribution to the big club, whether it be an everyday or a dependable depth player.

With a name like Reece Wilcox, you think this kid would be playing lacrosse.

And happy to hear the good news about Lappy!

Morin, Hagg, Ghost, Alt, Mab, Gus, Lauridson. Now if we can show some patience and let them develop, this team may have something!

The 2014 draft may be the first year the fans say "I think the team would be better off drafting a forward."

I'm hoping we won't be drafting high enough to get him. I'm always a BPA guy, but I was hoping they took a Dman in this past draft. I guess I was more BDA (Best Defenseman Available) unless a projected top 5 pick fell to them.

If the Flyers are drafting high enough to get Ekblad, something has gone horribly wrong.

Michael dal Colle of Oshawa would be fine for me. But he also may not last too long.

Maybe even a Sam Bennett of Kingston

Agreed. I expect we're going to be drafting in the 20-30 spot range. If we're drafting top 5, it will be Hextall announcing the selection.

I'm not really in draft mode. I'm in 'hold my breath and hope for no more offseason injuries mode'

I began following juniors a few years ago but not as close as I did with the lockout last year. Got an online package in which I can watch it more.

I don't think they could be that stupid. That franchise is close to rock bottom.

I'll watch some games on NHL network. I truly am a sports junky so I watch pretty much all sports. There is only so much time in a day to watch everything and still have a "life."

My favorite day of the year is college football saturdays with some hockey. My preference is an earlier Flyers game. Preferably 4pm. The good college games come on at night around 7:30-8. If you budget time correctly you can get a half hour to get dinner together without missing much.

I've become adept at the cross sport weekend. It's not easy, but if you take your girl out for a friday night dinner and maybe a saturday morning shop, it will get you full sport freedom with no complaints the rest of the day.

The entire month of October is a gift to the sports junkie. College and Pro football with early season hockey and a little NCAA basketball buzz (read: Big 5 basketball). I'm just meh on the NBA (league is too static with how teams can get better year to year to the point where it's too predictable to watch on the reg, IMO).

The month of April is a distant second with hockey, baseball, NFL draft, etc.

I've already ripped the C off of Giroux's chest for his golf carelessness and slapped it on Morin.

/"C" stands for "selfish", right Claude Lemieux?
