They should increase the draft eligible age to 19 (like it used to be) and set a rule that you can't play in the NHL until you're 20.

That stinks for the Jets, he was going to be a solid top 6 guy.

While there is no denying that Burmistrov is talented, possessing a skill set that the Jets need it can also be said that he wasn't ready to shoulder the load of second line centre. He needs more time to develop if he is the be the driving force on that line, the numbers support this claim, and Jokinen was an obvious fix.

I disagree with this. Jokinen was the worst bang for the buck player in the entire league last season. He was terrible.

Alexander Burmistrov: "The failure of the" Winnipeg "- it's an experience"
NHL

Forward "Ak Bars" Alexander Burmistrov, talking about his time in the NHL, said that his relationship in "Winnipeg" soured even before to the club joined Olli Yokkinen. Recall part of "Jets" 21-year old Russian joins in 2011, but season 2012/13 spent in the farm club.

- Do not go with the start of the season - Burmistrov admitted in an interview with "SE". - I was not allowed to go play in the KHL during the lockout. This distrust is coach to me ... He wanted to send me to the AHL, probably for something to teach. But it is not clear what he expected from me? It was just hard. I knew that I could break through in the early two triples felt. Just waiting for the coaches to Yokkinena that he would do much to help the team. And he was given more and more playing time. Maybe here I am bends sharply. But do not worry. It's an experience. He is going to be the next Radulov, talented as sin, but with his attitude will just be medicore in the NHL but a star in the KHL.

Probably his way of trying to make the Sochi team as well, dont they always try and do it half NHL/KHL players to make the team?

He is talented but its true, Noel has something against the kid, possibly because he is not playing to even half of his potential! I believe that he will be back once Noel is fired (and he will be guaranteed). He needs the time to to develop, the thrashers brought him into the league far to early in his career. What a shame!

Wasnt there rumours floating around the peg before they extended Noel for one year that dale hawerchuk might be the next coach?

I remember the year he was drafted he dropped a few spots because teams were afraid of this. He said he wanted to play in the NHL and that he wasn't even considering the KHL. I guess things must have changed.

Looks like Scheifele will finally get to stick for an entire season now

Dropped? He went off the board. He was projected at 20.

That was a weird draft, I remember losing my mind waiting for the Avs pick, Fowler, Gormley, Kuznetsov, Tarasenko, & Etem were all dropping, then the they go off the board with Joey Hishon.

Maybe it was the other way around and he rose. I never paid much attention to this franchise until it moved to Winnipeg tbh

I wouldn't be surprised at all! Dale has been coaching the Scheifman and is very highly respected by winnipeg management. I like Noel but I don't see him being a long term solution to the jets making the playoffs.

I am and will always be an avs fan as well. I remember that draft, I was yelling at the TV. Joey Hishon wasn't slated to go until the 2nd round (as I remember it anyways) and I wanted the avs to take Fowler. Hishon would have turned into a good player in the nhl, but his health has been horrible. I don't see him sticking in the nhl at all, its a shame.

Mark Scheifele has bulked up this past year. The last I had heard he had put on 15 pounds. I can't wait to see him in Winnipeg!

It was a WTF moment when they drafted him, but more info came out about him afterwards, if he wasnt hurt that season, they would have pegged him as a first rounder 20th-30th type range. THe kid is talented, but that concussion has destroyed him.

He did finally start playing hockey after 2 years dealing with it, he looked solid for the last 10 games with the monsters. I think he will bounce back, but wont be a top 6 forward potential anymore, could stick around as 3rd liner if he doestn have any set backs.

I was going nuts for Fowler too, I thought he might fall into t he Avs lap that draft. tarasenko was my other want, when the blues picked him right before the Avs, just pissed me right off.

You're right, he has a tonne of talent, I just don't see him cracking the avs lineup. Every if he does, is it fair to say that he won't be able to play in the nhl for that long before he gets another concussion?
