I don't remember many people complaining like this when Marchand punched Sedin 25 times in front of the ref.
- robin_steele264

well ya cause it was funny, but the Nucks fans certainly had reason to be pissed.

Sedin was expecting the 'clearly defined rule book' to save him.

Ref was expecting him to not be a complete (frank)ing pansy and stand up for himself.

End result was fantastic.

ya a bit sad. If it's Lucic, fine, turtle. But when a guy 5 inches shorter than you and not named Tie Domi starts punching you in the face, hike up your skirt and take a swing for (frank) sakes

I am endlessly stunned that there are not only people standing up for Ford, but there are actual people out there that are CERTAIN Ford is telling nothing but the truth. There is no video. These people are currently commenting on the article in the Sun that says TO police are currently close to finding the video, based on a tip from a Ford staffer about it's location... that's right... police are actively looking for and close to finding a video that "doesn't exist."

new rule for future elections. Anyone who voted for Ford, doesn't get to vote from now on. This is what happens when they do.

It's been like this for as long as I can remember.

Playoff hockey is the most intense and is the most entertaining thing to watch in sports, for me at least.

Whistles go away in the 3rd, especially in elimination games.

I love it.

- robin_steele264

yeah, sorry.. wont ever be a fan of the whole rule book goes out the window under certain circumstances thing. it looks bad on the sport.

imagine that logic applied in football, baseball.. or (frank)ing chess for that matter.

if there was a rule in the nhl book that clearly stated 'playoff hockey = there are no rules', how much of a farce would that be? less of a farce to have it just implied?

yes, lets play the entire regular season under a set of rules (allegedly), and once the playoffs start, play under a different set of unwritten rules. seems adequate for a professional sport

I love Dozzer but I honestly think he's one of them.

I understand what he's trying to say but jesus, there's gotta be a point where it's obvious.

Listen... I am almost 37 years old. I am not oneof the sheep blindly following the media just because the paper paints a negative brush.

No... I make up my own decision of the guy. It's not like he's been a stand-up mayor since the 70's like Hazel and all of a sudden... Oops, now this. No... the fat (frank) has been nothing but a bumbling, corrupt, uneducated, lying, rude, trashy, (frank)ing goof ever since he's been in office.

He needed to go awhile ago and hopefully this should do it his time.

Toronto is a world class alpha city, 4th largest, and one of the best in the world... can't have this beached whale representing it.

We are now a global laughingstock, mainly because of him. (partly because of game 7 and the Blue Jays)

Well stop watching in the playoffs then cause it's always been this way and I have little faith it's about to change.

No rules applies to both teams. Battle through it. That's the point.

i am seeing a couple differing opinions concerning reffing.

ultimately here is how i see it

men do not blame others when they fall short of achieving a goal...

thats what children do.

the leafs didnt get it done. not this year and not in 93.

its on their shoulders and no one else's.

- Dozzer

Partially true.
In 93 the ref helped the kings get it done. There is simply no arguing that.

that's a little ignorant. suppose that means fans aren't allowed to be a critic of the sport, and still watch it? i forgot how perfect hockeybuzz posters were for a sec there...

like i said, seems adequate for a professional sport

Ok well just complain about while you watch I guess.

I don't know what to tell you.

Refs put their whistles in their pockets for big games. Been that way since I started watching hockey.

It's the way it is.

all of this is true...

but Dozzer doesn't live in Toronto and didn't vote for Fatass, so he gets a pass.

I was working in TV in Toronto during the mayoral election. Saw almost all the election coverage and a fair bit of stuff not aired on TV. Jeezus (frank)ing Christ that guy is an idiot, and the fact ANYONE voted for him is just a sad (frank)ing statement about people in general.

Even IF people voted for him cause they thought for half a second this bumbling dibbler could actual pull off any of the outrageous campaign promised he's made, that's still doesn justify continuing to support him 2 years later when he hasn't done a god dammed thing since he took office, aside from humiliate himself and the city on almost a monthly basis.
