Great work indeed. Nice to see the mention of Jessie Lees. I work with his father, and he is a great kid. Definitely putting on the weight and training hard this summer. Already 8lbs up from when his season finished. Keep your eye on him. Very intelligent player.

Great job Bill. Would like to add one defenseman that is also a pretty big sleeper.

Michael Brodzinski. 5'11 offensive defenseman in the USHL. Can't believe such a little guy can shoot so freaking hard.

Comprehensive list and excellent work, Bill. We're lucky to have a cyborg who doesn't need sleep to provide us the excellent amount of coverage beyond the Flyers and NHL.

Absolutely terrific analysis, Bill. I had to take a rest when I was half way through it because it was so in depth.

Any chance the Flyers trade the pick to move up or back in the draft? Or is it more likely that the Flyers stand pat and draft in that spot?

I wonder if Jordan Subban gets picked earlier than he deserves by Montreal or Boston.

Information overload...but I guess this is how scouts feel on a daily basis leading up to the draft. And at least I don't have the associated pressure of having to narrow down picks.

Thanks, Bill.

Good read.

I don't think Theodore should be a first round pick. He's a steady dropper since the beginning of the season. He's more of a mid 2nd pick IMO.

Keep up the good work

Inconsistent talent and physicality. Questionable defensive game, and big contract.

Perfect fit

I'd probably be going for that homerun potential in the highest picks. After that with the safe bet.

Undersized d-men in later rounds really need to have damn good hockey sense.

That's the most over asked question on this comment board (next to "did we get Seth Jones yet?" ). I legitimately feel like that is the 40th time someone has asked that (including myself). The answer, so bmetz doesn't have to answer it again, is there's a chance of either. Imo, they will stay where they are. They have stated that they're happy picking at 11, and the last time we had such a high draft pick (2011 at #8), there was speculation as to whether or not we'd trade our high pick for multiple lower ones, but we opted to stay at #8 to pick couturier (where anyone picking with multiple lower 1st round picks got much lower-level prospects). So unless CBJ comes with an offer of their 2 1st for our 1, I don't see us pursuing it. I'm more in support of us staying at 11 and taking Pulock when he rolls around. Now in relation to this beautifully done blog, Madison Bowey gets my vote if he's still around by our 2nd round pick.

The chance of landing an NHL regular in the 1st-round is about 50%, 2nd-round is around 20-25%, 12-15% for the 3rd, and it gets exponentially tougher with each successive round.

Swinging for the fences in the opening round compounds the risk of coming up completely empty handed, because the probabilities in the later rounds are so poor. That's why you usually see teams that have solid draft records mostly playing it safe in the 1st-round, then taking risks later on when it becomes a complete crap shoot.

I don't think there is such a thing as a safe bet in later rounds. It's the same approach, draft who you think is the best players. And trying to hit a homerun in the first round is a bad strategy. Take the best player.

Many solid ones to choose from, do you think Dakota Mermis is that deserving of his ISS ranking?
