Ugh... What?

As a Kings fan, I have to root against the Ducks. But as a hockey fan, I have great respect for the team and organization. As a SoCal hockey fan, I want the Ducks to do well and for SoCal fans to shove the bandwagon label we get. Next year, make it happen Ducks. Lets meet in the playoffs. I'll even save you a seat Duck fans. I can think of much worse fans to sit next to.

I don't want the Ducks to win another Cup in the same way I want the kings to win the cup for the next 40+ years. Just selfish on my part. And maybe feeling like I am owed for ALL the bad years in my 30 years as a fan. It's nothin against the Ducks per se.

This year's experience should be valuable. I don't know if the current young leadership group has had as much expectations as was placed on them entering the playoffs.

my hate for the ducks come from their fans! or at least the ones ive had the 'pleasure' of talking to. as much as i do hate the ducks, steve is a great blogger. there is a certain ducks blogger that has absolutely no clue what he is talking about but still spouts off moronic crap. you know who you are toe blake.

I don't hate the Kings. Heck, I grew up on hockey going to Kings games at the Forum. I just can't stand most of their fans any more. That said, I really can't stand Joe Thornton. So yeah, I'm rooting for the Kings to put the Sharks down.

funny... my exact thoughts. he never really bothered me til the start of this series.

canucks n sharks are starting to be my #1 & #2 most hated teams. pushing that ducks/kings rivalry back until we meet in the postseason.

The Ducks gambled the same way the Kings gambled with their goalie. Both Bernier and Fasth showed signs of brilliance this year but each coach decided to stick with their #1 goalie. I still believe this would have been a Ducks/Kings round 2 if they stuck with Fasth. Imagine the cheap one liners they could have put up for Quick vs Fasth?

Fasth was injured and Hiller was healthy. They were close but the Ducks kids weren't ready to take that next step. They looked like a deer in headlights during the first half of game 7. Plus, with Beauchemin playing with a torn ACL, the Kings would have probably won in 5 or 6 at the most. It's a process, they'll get there soon.

Good blog, but the Kings haven't won this series yet. I have lots of respect for SJ and they will be very difficult to put away. With all the east coast bias from NBC with their love affair for Penguins, Rangers, Bruins, and Flyers I actually like to see the California teams do well when not playing the Kings. I really dont care for the Canucks and Phoenix more than anyone else.

trust me just about every Kings fan hates sharks fans and ducks fans. Plenty of hatred out here in Kali. it may not be like a back east original six rivalry, but there is a lot of bad blood at each of our arenas.
