But, Craig Leipold is a businessman who demands results. For him, it may be post-season or bust.
- Brad Ratgen

I really hope he doesn't freak out and start making massive changes if they miss the playoffs. I'd like to see Yeo and Fletcher stay even if they miss. This is going to take time.

Jason Zucker and Stephane Veilleux have been recalled after recently being sent down. At this point, shuttling players back and forth just looks ridiculous. If they weren’t good enough to be here 2 games ago, what makes them important enough now? It just shows the level of dispair currently in Minnesota, in my opinion.
- Brad Ratgen

I'm wondering if Bouchard is scratched tonight. Couple of really bad defensive zone plays by him that led to goals. Maybe Zucker goes on the 2nd line, Clutterbuck to the 3rd line, and Mitchell to the 4th line. Maybe put Veilleux on the 4th line for his energy and sit one of Rupp or Konopka.

I think Yeo would be on the chopping block alone, Fletcher has made some positive changes so far and Yeo hasn't been able to get them to a consistent level of play.

Good luck. I think the Blackhawks would prefer the Wild to the Wings or Blue Jackets in the 1st round.

It's time to step aside Minnesota and let Columbus in the dance...they clearly are showing that they want to be there. I think the only reason people are pulling for Minnesota, is hoping their team draws them in the playoffs!

Colorado (management) will want to lose because if they win they drop to 3rd in the draft. Same reason Nash will lose, they want a shot at picking #2.

If that was going to happen we would have lost last night rather than at home for Hejduk's last game.

I know players don't intentionally lose. Just saying at this point what management would want.

Dude I know you guys want D man. If you don't get Jones any chance you would trade down and maybe take Nurse?

No, we also need Wingers for our plethora of Centers, I see us taking Drouin at that point.

Or hopefully trading up with Florida for Jones, but as you said IF we don't get Jones so I suppose that's not relevant.

Cool! So there is a chance the Flames get the much needed centre.

I just don't know how they get completely destroyed by the lowly Edmonton oilers last night and still make the playoffs. I think the Wild lose in blow out like fashion again tonite and miss the playoffs.

As it is if they do still get in they'll be destroyed by either Chicago or Anaheim. This team has been an embarrassment for the past month after looking like a pretty good team for the first 2/3's of the season....

Nope, I think Yeo has to go. Two seasons, two nose dives after being in contention. Something has to change and with the quality players this team has, all fingers point to coaching... I like what Fletcher has done, but trading away that first round pick is starting to look like a bad move...

I can't agree that they were in contention last year. My opinion, they overachieved in the early part of the season and injuries exposed their lack of depth. I don't think that shows a coaching deficiency with Yeo.

I'd be willing to put a little more blame on the team's performance this year on Yeo, but I just don't think making radical changes based on this year is the way to go. I really think they had pressure from above to make the playoffs this year and that affected some of his decisions. I'm not sure we would have seen all the same decisions this year or the same results had they not had that pressure.

Get serious, I've been pulling for Columbus but they aren't any better of a team than Minnesota. They've got the whole underdog thing going on, that's pretty much it. They'll get railroaded right out of the playoffs just like Minne will or would. So please don't start gloating about a team that's merely on a roll that truly lacks the depth or skill level to make any sort of playoff run. Take away Bobrovsky and the Jackets are bottom 15 team, plain and simple...

I was wondering myself if Yeo could be in trouble if the Wild don't make the playoffs. Just a month ago you were sitting pretty at 20 - 10 - 2. Now it comes down to this.

I think Fletcher has done a great job stocking the system with terrific young talent while also bringing in Parise and Suter. Unlike many high-priced free agents Parise and Suter have both lived up to expectations. However at the end of the day the results are what matter most and Minnesota has to make the playoffs.

I could see Fletcher also getting canned if they don't make it. He's hired two head coaches, Todd Richards and Yeo. Should he get the chance to hire a third if Yeo is let go? Leipold has put a lot of money into the team and I could understand why he'd be upset if Minnesota missed out.

Absolutely, but for that reason I would give them a puncher's chance of making a good series of it with Chicago should they make it. They played the Hawks tough this year and with great goaltending a team can steal a couple of wins in a series. I wouldn't expect to beat the Hawks but grabbing a couple of wins would be nice given that their one playoff appearance was a sweep at the hands of the Wings.
