I'm sure many of you are familiar with the player usage charts - Sedins starting a large amount of shifts in the offensive zone while Lapierre (and previously and previously Malhotra) take on a shutdown role. I ask you if the Canucks are as good as their past regular season records indicate then should they switch to power vs power matchups all over the ice, since the better team more often than not comes up on top in those? Alternatively if nothing else such an approach would probably at least illuminate any issues instead of hiding them behind the specialization.
