really miss the days when there were arcades as well as arcade cabinets everywhere (in super makrkets and pizzerias and poop).
Hell, even my lil town had 2 arcades at some point.

There are some hipster arcades around now though, which is cool. Really wish the one near me had a Street Fighter II machine.

Man, back then Street Fighter was serious (frank)ing business. Codes of honour (that would generate heated arguments or even expulsions if broken), trash talk... that was so (frank)ing dope

besides convenience stores we had "news agencies", which i guess were where people got their news before the internet. even though we had the internet by then i guess some of these places stuck around (you still see some today) although i don't know how because they were literally just newspapers, magazines, cigs, candy, soda, and if you were lucky an arcade game or two.

(frank)ing gunsmoke, man. kennedy's news agency on main street. you'd be in there all day until things got too loud and they'd kick you all out.

If the barcade near me had a Street Fighter cabinet I would 100% adopt an over-confident heel wrestler-type personna when playing the game

they'd suddenly come tell us there's some "ordinance that says there are too many kids in here right now" but there had been 5 of us the whole time. lol

we'd go play wall ball on the back of the building for an hour and then go back in.
