my fav shroom story was the 2nd time we did em in Amsterdam. this time opted for the fresh hawaiin variety which was the highest grade at our main coffee shop

me and spiderplant's older brother pete must have been a sight because while sitting on a bench in the vondelpark the lead singer of System of a Down walked up to us and started chuckling. neither of us were really fans but the guy is pretty recognizable.

we couldnt really speak or move so we didnt address it at the time, but the next day we talked about it and looked it up online and they were indeed playing in Amsterdam that night.

last time i did shrooms i did them alone. i started off in the park on the mountain. then i decided everyone knew i was high so i started walking. i just started going west through the downtown core. after i passed 2 hot dog places i said to myself, i'm getting a hot dog and some fries. but i couldn't go to the places i had just passed because going east would mean going towards the past, and west was my future. and i thought it only made sense that the further west i went, the more opportunities for hot dogs would present themselves.
at this point i was in the rich part of town when i crossed an old lady with a leopard print dress and a pair of white gloves covered in dust. i whispered that she looked like a novel i hadn't read yet, she didn't hear me but i remember immediately feeling regret for not saying it to her because i thought it was maybe the greatest phrase i've ever strung together, but i couldn't trust myself not to yell because i don't think i had spoken to anyone that day and wasn't sure if i had control of the volume of my voice.
by the end of the day i had walked a good dozen KMs. no hot dogs presented themselves. this was after about 4 hours of walking. i was near my friend's place and almost not high. we took the bus back to the first hot dog place i passed and i ate 2 hot dogs and poutine.

oh yeah and i listened to almost every one of spoon's albums

Did shrooms maybe 5 times

Did acid one time, a 36-hour straight

Now that I remember it I guess I never did something more canadian than than acid trip. Spent a whole night on a lake in a canoe on a lake, than one buddy said let's learn stuff about beavers, so we reached to the beavers house. that buddy took a paddle saying "ever heard beaver babies?" and he starts hitting the wood house with the paddle. seconds after we start to hear babies crying and it was a bit too similar to human baby crying and I said dude stop that poop. He said no wait, you gotta see how the parents react.

He keeps hitting the house and then we hear a big KAPLOOF far away, the dad who was working on his dam was pissed. Then we turn head and we see the mother a few feet away hitting her tail on the shore FLAP FLAP FLAP and the dad heading straight to our canoe. He kinda froze when arrived to the canoe. I said I'M SORRY SIR, HAVE A NICE DAY and we got back to the middle of the lake to drink beers and smoke rolled Drum cigs.

Damn I just remembered that that trip had started with listening to Pink FLoyd Ummagamma for the first time ever at the cottage. It was a good start.

I wish the NHL had something for coaches to throw on the ice when they want to challenge a goal. I feel like it makes the whole process more riveting and it's so direct too. There's no ambiguity. This is a challenge!
