What's there to say? Three or four years they've been yapping about how great their junk is. In that time, they've had what, one player make the team full time, for a total of about 40 games?

Speaks for itself.

So, lets hear about your favourite prospect Kadri and his fat ass.

By the way, your numbers are wrong.

In the last four years Schneider, Tanev, Hodgson off the top of my head. I know any kind of C level prospect can make the Leafs but that doesnt mean you have a good prospect pool. It just means your team really really sucks.

Schneider and Hodgson are full time and if it were not for the lock out, Tanev would be here. Canucks had too many Dmen last season. Thats the only reason Tanev played some AHL games. Now the Canucks definitly have room for him and he'd stay.

The Canucks have had all their pick in the back 3rd of the draft for years now. Leafs in the top 1/4... lets talk about drafting success shall we.

Kadri shows up fat in the AHL and Hodgson gets the C... just thought I'd mention that since you spent so many years brow beating us on how much further ahead Kadri is in his developement and career than CoHo.

Told you Kadri is a weak punk.

Too many dmen. Lol. Yeah, crap like Keith Ballard is in his way. I love the excuses, naming guys that played 20 or 30 games as full time NHLers...

*Guys*? Who? Tanev is the only one that falls under that category. He's not considered a prospect anymore.... and one player. Schneider hasnt seen the AHL in almost three years. Hodgson hasnt seen the AHL since two seasons ago aside from this lockout.

Yes. We had too many under acheiving dmen, I agree. In Graganni case, Tanev was ahead of him on the roster but they insisted on playing him the required games to keep his rights only to let walk anyways... I have criticized these moves myself including Ballard. Still, it was what it was. Tanev wouldnt really have been competing for a spot this season. He was penciled in now that the log jam is clear.

Considering the lack of history behind Tanev, it is a pretty successful story already. This is what GM's need to accomplish when they are in poor drafting position due to success. You wouldnt understand obviously being a Leafs fan. You wouldnt even understand the other end of the draft position either obviously. Who else besides the worst expansion teams have squandered away a whole decade of great drafting positions?

Canucks prospect Nicklas Jensen is in a tie for 2nd in goals with 5 in the SEL. He picked up where he left off when he had instant success after joing the Wolves after season end. With Doan not signing, he was expected to get a serious look in camp. Many think he is ready.

edit: Tied for 2nd.

Darren Archibald has been cut from the Wolves in camp again. After an eye openning end to Junior, he looks to be a bust now.

That makes no sense. Posting reports is hardly hype. Canucks have had very few prospects to hype in recent years. Again, you wouldnt understand ... only Columbus shares your perminant top drafting position except they have drafted better with their picks.

Cut and paste from the Province.

COACH’S CORNER:

Here’s a progress report from Chicago Wolves coach Scott Arniel on two other players high on the Vancouver Canucks radar — centre Jordan Schroeder and defenceman Chris Tanev:

On Schroeder, who had two goals in a 3-1 preseason win over Milwaukee, and his coming off a 21-goal AHL season: “We always knew he had speed, but he scored two beautiful goals and has a great shot. It’s just the maturity around the room and you can really see that he’s grown up and is starting to fill out his body. He’s been strong on face-offs and we’e used him in a penalty killing role and is one of those dynamic players who when he uses his skill set, is hard to play against.”

On Tanev, who will be paired with Kevin Connauton on Saturday: “Some players you watch and some you can see aren’t quite ready yet to play at the NHL level. Tanev is ready to go. He’s polished and smooth and little things that defencemen have to do, he does. He’s got good feet and has good vision and you can tell that he just has that one extra step that other guys here [AHL} don’t have.”

Go Wolves!

I read that Lack already holds most of the Wolves goaltending records in this article.

The Moose run a much better website than the Wolves unfortunitly.

McNally and Harvard have their season opener today. This is a great write up. I'm really big on this prospect.

http://www.bostonherald.c...srvc=sports&position=also

“I think he has huge upside,” Harvard coach Ted Donato said of the 20-year-old from Glen Head, N.Y., who was drafted by the Canucks in the fourth round of the 2010 NHL draft with the 115th overall pick. “His skating is at an elite level. He’s really done it with a body that still has a lot of room to grow. I think he put on 10 pounds this summer. He still hasn’t filled out. He’s gotten by on just his hockey sense and skating ability and, as his physical strength improves and his shot improves, he’s only going to add more weapons to his offensive game. I think he’s one of those rare athletes where people looked at him in high school and said, ‘Well, that’s fine but he’s not going to be able to do it at that next level’ and, so far, he has. I’m not so sure that at that next level (pro), for him, he’s not going to be able to do the same kind of thing.

Massive point night for Frank Corrado as he collects 5 assists while he closes in on 1st in the OHL among defensemen.

http://www.sudburywolves....om/article/wolves-win-big

CORRADO vaulted himself into second place in scoring among OHL defencemen behind DOUGIE HAMILTON of the IceDogs.

He and McNally will one day be on this roster.

They don't chirp like they used to. No more "OMG OMG OMG CODY HODGSON IS THE BEST PLAYER ON THE PLANET AND EVEN ACROSS THE WHOLE UNIVERSE I KNOW IT FOR CERTAIN AND HE WILL WIN THE CALDER TROPHY NEXT YEAR OR THE YEAR AFTER OR THE YEAR AFTER OR THE YEAR AFTER WHENEVER HE FINALLY ACTUALLY STICKS IN THE NHL EVEN THOUGH HE ISN'T EXACTLY TEARING UP THE AHL" anymore.

You see that top 100 prospect list a while back? One prospect on it, in 88th place.
