Good goalie, decent cap hit at $5.3m, declining salary, two out-clauses in the next four years, and he'll be motivated to show his worth. How about TO, TB, and NJ. I don't know, I'm guessing. I'm still in shock about the first round loss. Now our number one goalie might have just been run out of town.

Ever think that maybe Cody was not ready defensively to play with the Canucks, a team that had Stanley Cup aspirations? If Cody wanted out of Vancouver due to his place on the depth chart then clearly he is not the leadership type everyone seems to have him pegged to be. Leaders understand first and foremost that the team comes first.

I don't see how that would be a major issue on Vancouver, I mean the Sedins can't play the PK either. Vancouver isn't a team like LA or St Louis where everyone needs to be able to play all 200 feet

To be fair, AV played him 5min max down the stretch. How is a 20 year old kid suppose to learn a new system for the playoffs? He needed confidence and AV gave him doubt.

UHhhhhh yes it is. You have to be able to play 200 feet for Av. Look at our defense. They all jump in the rush. The Sedins used to play pk but they play over 20 minutes a night even strength and pk. No reason to play pk with the defensive forward on this team like Kesler, Burrows, Malhotra, Hansen, Lapierre and Raymond. This team is built with two way forwards and if you can't play in your own end than you're going to have trouble playing here. You couldn't be more wrong if you were mr. wrong and you were the mayor of wrongville. (Canucks fans will get that)

Cody doesn't control the play out there like the twins do. If you can't control the play then you need to be able to be responsible in your own zone.

That's why AV is the goat. Couldn't keep the PT winners focused. Out coached in the playoffs. Mis-handled players.

There was a real disconnect between the team's talant and the coaching scheme.
