wait until 2014 and get crosby instead. pegs has the money that sid will be looking for. maybe just maybe he'll want out of mario's shadow. what else could pittsburgh give him other than ownership in the team. it seems he has everything else there but that.

Crosby isn't making it to free agency.

This is my biggest GARTH complaint. He has always updated/changed his blogs, but he used to post the updates as comments so that if the conversation was 10 pages in everyone would know that he added info. That was a couple years ago at least.

Now you read the blog, start commenting (hopefully somewhat intelligently,) and a few pages later someone makes a comment that seems totally off base, or off topic. It's annoying, especially if there is a solid convo going already... why change it? But if you've seen this happen 1,000 times, it's like shock therapy. Deja vu. Someone changed the matrix. You realize you need to go back and see what the new blog within the blog is all about.

Crappy finish. The first 2 in the series were good games. Still loses, but better hockey than game 3.

I can't get too excited or upset. Obviously, I want them to do well, but as I explained before, it's not NHL hockey. I'm just not intrigued by the "charm" of people playing "hungrier". There has to be more. It's still just a side dish. Couple that with the fact that great AHL players don't necessarily translate into good NHL players, and I don't lose much sleep over their success or lack thereof.

I was going to. I went to their last 2 regular season home games. They looked good. It seemed like they were playing the right kind of hockey going into the playoffs. Leggio had a great second half of the season.

I've got a big trip out of town coming up this weekend, so I opted to skip the game and get some other things done. Ended up being a good call.

The Sabres have exactly what Ray Shero and the Penguins are looking for in a trade partner: 2 first rounders and two second rounders in this June's draft. They also have Derek Roy who is a true #1 centre with term left on his deal (1 year $4 million). Buffalo also NHL-ready prospects like Luke Adam and TJ Brennan. Whats more, Mr. Pegula has the financial where with all to meet Staal's financial demands. Pegula can craft a deal akin to that of Ehrhoff and Myers in order to create the needed cap room to sign and retain the essential pieces to the puzzle.

I need to start reading Garth's blogs more often. I really, really needed a laugh this morning. Thanks, man.

Yeah, where the hell have you been?

Taking a break from this place. Everyone should detox occasionally. I will still pop in & say hi but once the draft comes I will be back. I can't miss the hilarity that will ensue & all the "why didn't we trade Ellis for Crosby, Malkin & a first" talk.

The more I hear about Hodgson/AV, the more I think AV is a giant douche.
Stoll is going to be a hell of a player - good luck going after him! But do you have the organizational depth to sacrifice, say, 2 #1s, 2 #2s and a prospect?

- thefullnelson

Wait, wait... Are you talking about Jarret Stoll with that package? Really?

Don't get me wrong. If they could figure out a way to land him, I'd be as ecstatic as anyone. The part that's way off base was, that if, for the sake of argument, Pittsburgh was looking to move him, and if Buffalo was a trading partner, Derek Roy would be going the other way. Pittsburgh has a method, a system, that their players buy into. Derek Roy doesn't seem to like to be told what to do. He's the exact opposite of a perfect fit. He's also not a true #1 center.

I believe CoHo will have a big year next year.... Same with Leino....

Can someone please get Ruff out of here.... If he does not have control of this locker room... There is a problem...

This team is still Talented... Just need to stay healthy.... Specially Ehrhoff.... For some reason when he was on the ice.... this team played much much better...

i love how everyone is calling for roy to be traded when he is still recovering from his injury. that is going to take some time and i'm sure he will be back to normal and ready to play next season. i personally think roy is still a good player and should remain on this team for at least another season, and lindy should be the one to go.

As far as talent goes, Roy is an above average player goes. As far as attitude goes, you can't win with him unless his role is diminished.

I tend to agree with you... Roy turned it up the last few weeks of the season and played really hard...

But Ruff has too go.....

It's time for Roy to play with another team. Let Cody be our #2 center and give Derek a change of scenery.

And reading the latest Nucks blog, seems they feel the same way about AV that we do about LR...switcheroo?
