Hitting a player from behind and pushing him into the boards isn't a suspendable play anymore? Cause it was 2 weeks ago, Lapierre was suspended 4 games for a play that wasn't nearly as dangerous as that.

Cambell's back wasn't (completely) to Ovechkin.

Ovechkin was skating forward, Campbell was turning when his front skate hit a rut five feet from the boards a micro second before Ovechkin got there.

Cambell was already going to fall, Ovechkin's push sent him into the boards with a great deal more momentum - which should have been grounds for a double minor.

Nothing more. Ovechkin is a dirty P.O.S. but the officials went overboard on that call.

He didn't get away with this hit plain and simple.

What really needs to happen of course is for someone to destroy him when he's in a vulnerable position. I can't wait for that day to come........

Like I said, that's a matter of semantics. If not for the hit itself, then he's getting away with it through your reasoning that Campbell was going to fall anyway and slightly turned his shoulder.
