Weight can be irrelevant to a hit. I’ve seen many smaller guys drop heavier players. Look up 150 lb Tyler Ennis and see some of the guys in the 200 lb range that he hammered. Ennis took some ferocious hits himself because he was so small.

As for Barkov embellishing that hit, please explain how you think that.

- paulr

One he's either charmin soft or embellishment, the way he acted how the hell was he in the line up today, a clear message i would send my team is any chance you get check Barkov, even act like it if you are near him.

Let's not put our head in the sand and act like the NHL isn't a bully league

Besides you didn't answer my question about Moore so your omission tells me all i need to know

Man the Toronto top 5 forwards are good. Rival Hawks top 5 in their prime talent wise at least.

Think if this leafs team had a Keith Seabs type top pairing. They were lucky with Keith’s contracts avv.

How about a Rinzel 😁

[quote=BetweenTheDots]1 its been a physical series, Barkov is chasing the puck, how is he not aware that Hagel is there, shoulder to shoulder hit, other than Hagel losing track of the puck I thought there was nothing wrong with it. I would be upset if that happened to a Blackhawks player sure but theres gotta be some awareness by Barkov.

I didn't like Moore getting hit by Guhle but Guhle didn't get suspended a game for that hit.

- LAHawk[/

Different scenarios, the puck was coming towards Moore, Barkov never touched and eas chasing the puck.

The puck was still about 5 feet away from Moore when contact was initiated. Apples/oranges? Idk…both were bad hits.

Possibly afraid that Eklund was going to say he was going to decline the job -- which basically means fate will make you take it ... and had to get it out there first, to avoid being made to do it. . .

Watch the video again. Love Hagel and always have but he launched into Barkov with both feet coming off the ice well into the air. Barkov never had the puck and long after the puck was gone from the area, Hagel laid him down. Wasn’t a hockey play. He played a goon role and got a goon’s sentence, plain and simple.

This is leaving your feet, i do appreciate no head shot again, at least he didn't embellish

Neither play was charging/leaving their feet. Hagel got called for interference which is all that it really should have been. Suspension for this was kind of unnecessary IMO. Tkachuk 2 or 5 for interference, doesn't seems like suspension worthy hit either. He caught him not looking, it was late and he did it at a somewhat pointless part of the game, which is why I think they just call it 5 and get him out of the game.

If anything it would be the Hawks not guaranteeing the years. The Hawks have already been reported as having put forth a very strong offer.

I was wondering if it was because of his kids. The life of an NHL coach would consume a massive amount of his time, and I believe his kids are young.

I would guess he would be in the 4x$3M range? Richardson got half that for the same amount of years. But he was not in the same demand and we weren't trying to convince him to change jobs. Carle also has won a lot albeit not at the NHL level. There's also inflation as well.

We will hit 10,000 posts and 400 pages about the same time. The posts will probably hit around 397-98 as long as we keep posts to less than 10 pages double spaced please.

As far as a new blogger, Dan Bernstein is looking for a job.

Only a fool would guarantee the years what with the Colliton and Richardson experiences... want guaranteed years -then perform. Guaranteed = insurance for the potential to suck.

What's the HC of the Golden Gophers like?

Wouldn't mind Tocchet- but I doubt he is looking for a building project.

On behalf of Fenway Sports Group and the Penguins organization, I would like to thank Mike Sullivan for his unwavering commitment and loyalty to the team and City of Pittsburgh over the past decade,” said president of hockey operations and general manager Kyle Dubas. “Mike is known for his preparation, focus, and fierce competitiveness. I was fortunate to have a front-row seat to his dedication to this franchise for the past two seasons. He will forever be an enormous part of Penguins history, not only for the impressive back-to-back Cups, his impact on the core of Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Kris Letang and Bryan Rust, but more importantly, for his love and loyalty to the organization.”

It’s not a true firing – rather, a mutual decision for Sullivan to pursue another opportunity and for Pittsburgh to find a new identity behind the bench in the twilight of their core’s careers. Sullivan had two years left on a three-year extension. It’s unclear whether the Penguins will still pay him the money owed on that deal.

That would be great, but I think it will be a really tough sell to keep him out of Boston. He's from there and I think McAvoy or one of the D-men is his son-in-law or something.
