also, yesterday, i had 3 of one of these "super sessions" (at the bottom). one of the green ipas.

https://www.lawsonsfinest.com/beer/

i didn't know there were this many so i didn't think to look that hard. it was one of these though. i feel like it was 6, 7 or 8. it was good and hoppy, whichever one it was. bitter AF. mmmm™

clown shoes space cupcake ipa.

beer #5 in the "12 beers of christmas advent 12 pack" i was given (i might be cheating).

pretty good ipa. bitter and hoppy, mmm. a little maltier than i like but not the deal breaker type.

not unlike prime jessica alba, this has one beautiful can. like very cool comic book art or something.

clown shoes lil' crispy

it says it's a crisp ale and it's beer #4 in the advent 12 pack (i'm definitely cheating).

well this is exactly what budweiser, coors, miller and everybody else is trying to taste like but can't i guess. it's just a simple, great tasting beer. clean and delicious. straightforward, no aftertaste, no bullpoop. like the name says, it goes down clean and easy and it's crisp and refreshing AF. very surprised at how nice this was to drink.

also, more really cool art on the can. i'm sensing a theme.

clown shoes mango ipa.

then, under the name, it says "ipa with mango", in case the name wasn't.. (frank) nevermind.

it's beer #7 and, obviously, i can no longer feign ignorance. i clearly know what i'm doing. i'm cheating at the advent 12 pack and i'm a bad person.

anywhoo, it's hazy but doesn't taste quite like a hazy ipa. come to think of it, it isn't marketed as a hazy ipa. weird. not sure how much mango i taste either. i'm not even sure i'd pick mango out as the main flavor if i didn't already read it on the label.

none of this is to say it's bad. it's refreshing and it is juicy, just not overwhelmingly so, like it kind of leads you to believe, what with the name and all.

more of an alice in wonderland, acid trip vibe to the artwork this time. not as cool as the other two but still cool.

clown shoes advent party crasher.

american imperial stout.

it was supposed to be beer #12 and i'd be drinking it on christmas day i guess except that i'm a filthy animal cheater. look, i have needs, okay?! i never should have told you about any of this. i'll kill you all! i didn't mean that last part.

it's 8% and while that isn't necessarily high, it is imperial. that being said, it isn't boozy enough to ruin the bitter, baking chocolatey deliciousness that we all naturally crave this time of year.

it pours the color of a chocolate lab and then once it's in the glass it is impenetrable blackness. hold it up to the most powerful light source in your house, go ahead. i already tried. it laughs at that light source. (frank) your light source.

again, cool comic book artwork. like an office christmas party being invaded by monsters and chaos.

is it a witbeer? i'm not really a fan of those.

there are some really expensive, world renowned beers that everybody loves that i don't really like because i couldn't get into, like, belgian beers and wheat beers and stuff like that.

It's a very dark beast of a beer. I usually age them 3-5 years to get them to 30% a bottle. Smooth as (frank) and delicious...also you'll get drunk.

Abv of a beer does not change when aged, if anything it might lose a little slightly.

It doesn’t, it’s impossible for a beer to continue to ferment if there is no more sugar for the yeast to convert to alcohol. What you’re experiencing is a placebo effect. Most people assume it continues to ferment and when they open a beer that’s really old and tastes different because the flavor degrades everyone gets all “woah this beer is strong” attitude when it really isn’t stronger but only the flavor has changed.

Edit: also you would need to know the original specific gravity of the beer prior to fermentation to determine that you’ve magically reached 30% abv after aging the beer.
