Nice to see one of my favourite threads resurrected.

Was out biking yesterday ( in Ottawa ) taking advantage of the warmer weather, and took a short cut through one of the "Beer Store's" parking lots.........and noticed people putting cases of beer into their cars, and wondering why (in Ottawa) would you be buying beer in Ontario, when you can just drive across into Quebec and buy the exact same case of (24) beer for 6 to 10 dollars cheaper????

nice, how hoppy is it?
- Dumbnickname

Not as much as I thought it would be, but very well balanced. Of the three hopping stages (bitter, flavor, aroma) I think they could have jacked up the aroma a bit. But overall a very well-balanced ale. The malt isn't overwhelmed at all. Highly recommended.

The savings on one case of beer (bought in Hull Quebec) more than pays for any gas burnt. Ottawa sits right on the Border of Quebec, so it's quite convenient.

Nectar of the Gods, nectar of the GODS.

I'm drinking a Stone IPA right now, but I fell in love with Boddington's when I was living in Manchester:

i walked into a bar in philly that had boddington's on tap last thursday. i've never been in a bar that was cool enough to have it on tap. so i drank it until they closed to show my appreciation! it is good stuff for sure.

i also do enjoy the stone ipa (and the gargoyle thingies stone puts on their bottles too)

Anything by Smuttynose is great.

http://www.smuttynose.com/

Their IPA, DIPA called 'Big A' and Pumpkin are tremendous beers.

Also Great Lakes Brewery

Green Flash IPA's are great as well.

awesome stuff, both stone and green flash. stone makes an incredible imperial stout, their anniversary ale is excellent as well. green flash makes one called Hop Head Red, try it if you like the ipa.

Good to see the thread is back! My buddies have an annual bad beer party, ones to stay away from. This was described as tasting like puking up last night's italian dinner, Figures it's some brilliant AB marketing gimmick, did win first prize this year though.

I have seen this. Its a joke right? AB didnt mean to actually market this any other way than a joke? Beer and tomato juice. I'm speechless when I think about it.

Holy smokes... that is a bad combo. Beer and Clamato. WOW. I thought this coffee beer was a bad idea but this... this takes the cake... or keg I guess.

The worst beer I remember tasting has got to be Keystone. I was on a rugby tour in the US and we rolled through a city called Doylestown in Pennsylvania and we had a chance to sample some of this stuff... holy moly it was bad. I just remember thinking it tasted like soggy cardboard.

Blech.

This is no joke, some people actually like it, I did not personally try it but my friends were horrified.

I'm on the IPA from stone right now, but their best stuff is the smoked porter. Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse has it on tap, it's perfect with BBQ. Out here there's another IPA called "Racer 5." It's awesome and really strong (7%, you can definitely taste it under the hops).

Capones has it in a 22oz bomber.
I had a glass at a bar in Wayne. It`s a good version of an IPA. Lot`s of hops up front.
