the cashier told me dogfish head merged with the boston beer company. talking about beer at a brewery is absolute madness but it happened.

CAN WE FINALLY GET DOGFISH HEAD HERE NOW

dogfish head is like a carousel of amazing things. i hope you get it. i'm not even sure where to tell you to start there are so many great dogfish heads.

even their indian brown ale is (frank)ing delicious and let's face it, (frank) brown ales.

i like brown ales!!! left field brewery over here makes a mean brown ale. legitimately good.

i've had a handful of dogfish head beers and all were good but it's just not available here at all. gotta pick it up south of the border

you need to guide me then

i used to love their 60 but kind of got sick of it. everything else from them ive tried has been a one and done.

i want to be into them because they always come out with new creative stuff and i love their packaging.

the flesh & blood ipa is a blood orange jawn that was pretty nice, and that liquid truth serum ipa that i just had recently was awesome (see page 496 for an expert user review!). i will definitely be buying that one again.

people rave about the namaste but it's never sounded like my type of beer so i never bought it but you might want to try that one because people say it's great. i guess it's like an allagash white, i don't really know for sure, but it's a belgian white with some weird ingredients thrown in.

sit, this is a long one (that's what she said joke).

okay, listen, i had some beers today that i'm not proud of.

i think i may officially be a beer snob now because i was literally looking down my nose at these beers. well maybe not looking down my nose, but i was definitely afraid when i saw these beers. i was scared like somebody was chasing me.

i was at a party and i didn't really want to be picky so (even though i knew there were multiple well stocked beer fridges in the basement that i had been intimate with in the past) i dutifully accepted a beer from the cooler in the yard. they were golden road beers. i hadn't heard of the brewery. i don't know what else they make but this was a variety pack of the dreaded fruit-added beers.

anyway, the first one was called mango cart. i actually picked it myself as the first one they showed me was melon flavor beer and honestly, (frank) that. i literally heard someone say "oh, he's not gonna like that" as it was transferring hands. i figured it's not like i was being handed a miller 64, and i hate when peoples' eyes are on me, so i took it and just moved on.

i knew if it was syrupy, or even just bad beer, i'd taste it much less when it's ice ice cold so i drank it as quickly as i could. i think this helped because if it was indeed syrupy i couldn't really tell. it came off cleaner than a cheap fruit beer where if you get a drop on your finger you expect it to be sticky. it actually wasn't as bad as i was afraid it was going to be. the mango taste was super strong but at least i could recognize a real and discernible beer taste.

the second was called pineapple cart. "okay", i thought, "i love pineapple."

but it wasn't until i got it in my hands that i noticed there was small print. uh oh, there were two more flavors in it. i read on nervously. blood orange (fine) and strawberry (i knew this could be a problem).

everything would have been okay but it was the taste of strawberry hard candies, not strawberries, and i just (frank)ing knew it was gonna be that way. as this one got warmer i could taste more and more of this strawberry and i managed to "lose my beer" on a crowded kitchen counter.

anyway, i can't say anything about the melon or any other flavors that may have been in that cooler but i can tell you that, while i would never buy this, if it was 95 degrees and humid and i was stuck out on a deck or at an outside bar or something terrible like that, this is probably fine. at least the mango one. it beats a coors light. not sure how much of a compliment that is but whatever.

it's like 5.9 s2tp's or something i guess.

i did also revisit the carton milk stout yesterday.

i don't know. it's just not doing it for me. maybe i got a bad batch because there was literally only like an 8th of an inch of head on every one i poured. i don't know. it just felt and tasted kind of watery and flat to me.

i ended the night with a mama's little yella pils from oskar blues. we've been over that one before. it's okay.
