also, in case anybody thought i walked out with a free hand.

one last thing, (frank) that overpriced liquor store. i extended my already extended lunch and went to a second liquor store because (frank) those guys. when they saw me leaving with nothing they yelled "can we help you with anything?!" and i replied "yeah, lower your prices" and i split.

i never minded paying an extra few dollars per bottle of bourbon or an extra 75 cents for a 6 pack but they've lost their damn minds now. this 6 pack you're looking at in the picture was $10.99 at the second store i went to. it was $13.99 at the overpriced liquor store, and as i looked around, that seems to be their go-to number with the price gun. like 85% of their beers were $13.99 whether they were 6 packs or 4 packs.

suck my Richard, colombo liquors.

How far are you from carton brewing?
- shvingter88

i'm an hour and a half away. i hear great shvings though.

but i have some pretty good breweries right up against me. i have Cape May Brewery and Kane brewery "downa" shore and i can walk to Flying Fish from my front door. it seems like every day there's a new one popping up like Tonewood (which i approve of) and Eight & Sand (which i don't trust because it's from shady AF woodbury). there's Double Nickel in pennsauken and Spellbound in mount holly (both really good). Forgotten Boardwalk brewery is also around if you want a funnel cake beer or whatever.

we're done with tomatoes. we do beer now.

Kane is good, but carton is the best I’ve had from Jersey imo

i had a bad experience with carton. you know how that goes. i had the very well respected 07XX and i think it was old or something.

they also seem to be fixated on 12% abv and i like my beers a little lower.

i know their beer is better than what i tasted. so i'll get back to them one day. they have very interesting looking stuff that i have to try.

If you see an ipa older than 2-3 months don’t buy it, hops change flavor a lot and the yeast isn’t meant to age.

yeah i normally check the dates but iirc it wasn't on the little box. i guess it was on the cans maybe?

especially ipas cause i want my hops to pop. i like a nice dank, crisp ipa.

I'm usually afraid to buy a case of IPAs if the case doesn't display a canned date or best by date. And the one beer store around where I live I especially have to be careful because they have cases of IPAs from October on their shelves.

when i lived in godforsaken bellmawr i had 2 canal's liquors that were 3 miles apart on the same road. you could buy your bourbon at either of them but the beer at the one closest to my house was always old. that's the store that ruined oskar blues ipa for me because it was 6 months old and tasted like a (frank)ing matzo ball.

i like those too.

i used to just be porters and stouts. then ipas crept in and i like almost every style from resiny to grapefruity. also english bitters seem to be a style i go for.

i think those are my major 3 or 4 jawns.
