ohh, these mother(frank)ers right here. firestone walker. these guys are so got damn real. all praise be to allah.

i was looking up and down 2 long, really well stocked aisles for something new to try when all of a sudden i came face to face with a ton of firestone walker selections right at eye level. like destiny. or really good marketing. one or the other. anyway i've been super excited ever since.

when i left off with the luponic distortion ipa series they were on like #3 or #4. well, here's #11. the others were great, it's an ipa, i love the brewery, it's 5.9%.. it's just like the planets were aligned for this beer to be the love of my life.

this is where you might expect me to hit you with the swerve after the sappy buildup. but there is no swerve. this poop's where it's at. this is a sensational beer IMHO!!!

"flavors through hops" is written on the can but it's still hard to believe something can taste like this without some kind of cheating. PEDs or some poop. they say hints of pineapple, guava, and lemon and they're right. but it's kind of crazy just how much it comes through in this beer. it's not just a hint of anything. you taste tropical fruit when you (frank)ing belch between sips.

but it still gives way to a really nice snappy bitterness like it should.

unreal beer. refreshing AF and really punches you in the mouth with taste.

i think there's 8.4 s2tp's in these cans.

well wouldja get a load of these guys. i've had the velvet merlin oatmeal stout which was a gift from the gods. well this is mocha merlin, a chocolate & coffee infused milk stout. are these guys yanking my chain? everyone on the internet, as well as the millions watching at home on TV, know my weakness for mocha flavored coffee beverages. i can't quit anytime i want.

if you were going to be worried about anything at all you might worry that a milk stout is sweet enough as it is, will chocolate and coffee put it over the edge? will it be sickly sweet? but then you remember you're dealing with firestone walker and of course they did it just right. like the left hand beer from a page ago, it's more like baking chocolate or cocoa or something so it isn't too sweet. it's still sweet though, don't get it twizted. with the just-brewed coffee taste on top of it, it makes me think of some kind of hoity toity dessert that people richer than me get to eat in restaurants where people richer than me get to eat. but it stops well short of being too much to take. it never does get close to sickly.

it's dark as night and smooth as silk. a little more carbonated (maybe) than i think a lot of milk stouts are but that's not a bad thing. you'd only notice it if you were concentrating on breaking it the (frank) down to the ground in an expert user review on a hockey website.

bottom line is i'll buy this again and these guys are gods.

firestone walker turned my world upside down with their Wookey Jack (RIP). They're hard to find in my area but a few restaurants have them on tap. Imma check my beer store for that one

it's good, not great. the hops aren't hopping enough and it's maltier than i want an ipa to be by about 100%.

feels like some kind of tweener to me. i bet people who drink like bocks or octoberfest beers or some poop like this.

for me it's like 7 s2tp's. but i feel like this is some complex masterpiece to some people.

Not too bad. Tastes like a light beer with a nice balance of blueberry and lime. Would drink again if it were given to me

this is the result of sending me into a liquor store on our way back from the bar.

total novelty dessert beer. but as far as total novelty dessert beers go, this is pretty (frank)ing good.

it's everything that label says it's gonna be. there's molasses, there's vanilla, and there's a nice coffee/chocolateish thing going on like you might expect. so it's sweet. it's real sweet. you drink one of these.

(NO PICTURE AVAILABLE!)

i was offered and, took one sip of, a forgotten boardwalk ginger snap cookie flavored beer.

i'll give them credit, it did embiid taste just like a ginger snap cookie. however, i'm pretty sure i don't want my beer to taste like a ginger snap cookie.

i'm not saying it's bad but i doubt very seriously that i could drink an entire one of them without it kind of ruining my day.

i guess you can make good beer anywhere because this is from a small stupid town like 10 minutes from me. now that i know about this beer, this beer is the only thing that the town is known for.

anyway, it's good as poop somehow. it's a nice snappy bitter ipa. really like it.

i had one on tap at my wonderful filomena's during last week's holiday festivities and really dug it. i didn't know it was local until i looked it up on my phone.

it's very much grapefruit. also very much piney. no real malt taste to speak of, which is totally fine by me in an ipa or apa.

it's cloudy and a really light yellow.

really my kind of beer. i'll give it an impressive 8.25 s2tp's, which really really surprises me for a beer from oaklyn (frank)ing new jersey.

i feel like we've talked about this one before but i also feel like i'd never seen this beer before in my life until i bought this can. strange how the brain works. or doesn't work.

on like the 22nd we went to the liquor store to stock up the christmas house and we grabbed 2 singles while we were there. but we forgot about both of them and just found them in the garage freezer over the last few days. anyway, this is one of them.

it apparently has real fruit juice and pulp in the recipe. but it's not like when one of those poopty beer companies adds some fruit syrup concocktion to their poopty beer and tries to sell it to you.

now i don't like most fruit beers so it's strange that i'd defend this one but all i'm really saying is "don't not try this one just because it's a fruit beer." cause you do taste actual beer and IPA-like hops and all. it's definitely a good beer. but it is a fruit beer too for some reason.

getting on with it, you definitely taste blood orange/grapefruit with every sip of this beer. but like i just (frank)ing said, it's still a good IPA so you definitely taste a lot of hoppy-ness too. it's not as bitter as i really like but you do get the hops for sure. i'd imagine bitterness probably isn't what this beer was all about anyway.

also, i drank it without looking and i'd have guessed it was like 5.5% so it does its 7.5% pretty well.

it's good. like, i like new belgium but this destroys their tangerine beer. de-stroys. it's like night and day. so i mean i get it about fruit beer but it just isn't my main squeeze, you dig?

it's like a 7.15 s2tp beer for me but probably like an 8 or some poop to fruit beer people.
