the main problem with scotch is it's super overpriced now

a fancy bottle of bourbon here is like $80. the cheapest scotch here is around the same price and it probably tastes like someone dropped peat in rubbing alcohol. it won't be high quality.

just had a real (frank)ed up exbeerience.

real (frank)ed up.

it says "shelton brothers", "mikkeller", and "1000 ibu" in different places all over the bottle.

i know that this type of beer is supposed to have sediment but as i poured this, actual chunks were plopping into the glass. it was 5 months past its best by date but it looked like it was 350 years past its best by date.

chunks.

some of these chunks were the size of a dime. (frank) that. dumped.

as far as gimmick beers go it's a decent one i think since at least it doesn't have a strong fake banana flavour

i have no qualms with the particles, and the cloudy beer, and doing the swirl with the bottle before i pour, or anything. but this poop was rancid looking. and right at the end of the pour there were yuge chunks. it was nasty.

reading about it, the word "barleywine" was used in a lot of the taste comparisons, so i don't think i would have liked it anyway.

that it's a 1000 ibu gimmick beer is enough to scare me away. no real interest in that weird hop extract poop. had one of those once and it was terrible. "only" like 280 ibus though.

anything over 120 ibu is a gimmick anyway.

our taste buds only go up to 100-120 ibu. after that they're maxed out and the difference is imperceptible.

it's the kind of fact i hear and my mind remembers it instantly and forever.

my blood type and my license plate number are mysteries to me though.
