I just had this one on tap 2 weeks ago...Wow! Amazing!

They're located outside San Diego, went on the tour not long ago when visiting the fiancees family. They don't stop pouring afterwards until you physically turn your glass over and walk away. They were out of the ruination that day though.

I would love to do a tour of the brewery! I went to a Belgium beer bar in Wayne Pennsylvania (near where i live) they had a nice Stone selection. I dam near tryed everyone except the 11th anniversary ale. There is also another Brewery in San Diego called Green Flash. I`ve been hooked on their West Coast IPA lately.

Dumbnickname and I are fortunate. We live in an area where good beer is easy to get.

I'm almost sorry to see the cold season end. I will have to switch to the lighter beers. Stouts are tough to drink in the summer. I'll have to drink more to get it out of my system before it warms up, I guess.

Another one for the list. One thing I always say about Philly; damn fine beer town. If yer ever up in this neck of the woods, you have to go to Magnolia Pub at Haight and Masonic. Cask conditioned, hand-pulled ales = yum.

By the way, I agree with you guys, this is the best alt. thread. I'm suprised it isn't more popular than it is. I mean, what is more appropriate on a hockey blog website than one about beer? Kudos guys! Keep it going!!

There's a pub in Rochester NY called the Old Toad. It's an old English motif. They usually have about 4 or 5 hand pulled cask conditioned live ales. AMAZING! If you've never had a live ale people go get some. The only bad thing about that place is dealing with all the snooty, smelly brits. Beers worth it though!

It sad to think that so many people out there consider switching from Natty ice to Labatt Blue as "drinkin the good stuff" Sad!

That's what happens in college towns...

Last Halloween I brought some Sam Adam's Octoberfest to a party... everyone thought I was Jesus turning water to wine.

EDIT: I decided that would be the last time I bring a decent beer to a college party...

Even sadder is when you hang out with people like that and they consider you a wannabe beer snob for wanting something worth drinking.

Thats because they have brainwashed people into believing Labatts Blue is top shelf beer . Big beer guys (Millercoorbud) spend so much money marketing their swill its absurd! What pisses me off is that Blue Moon Belgium wannabe stuff made by coors. It`s not right they try to slink into the micro market!

Awesome!!
Compare it to someone who eats meat. If a guy is eating chuck steak and loves it, and then you give him a filet, and he goes eeewwww this is gross.

Weyerbacher (local) makes some good stuff. My wife, who will drink some good beers with me on occasion, thinks any stout or porter taste like an ash tray. I guess for some its an acquired taste.

I currently have Heresy (along with Troegs Hop Back) in my Kegerator at home. I try and get a keg of it every year when it comes out and it never dissapoints. I don't live that far from the Brewery so, I'll head out there every couple of months or so to take the tour and sample whatever they have. The people there are great and have no problem letting you sample whatever you want, even if it means opening a bottle from their stock. I hightly reccomend visiting and, when you are finished, check out Which Brew for lunch. It's a nice beer bar with a good selection of taps and bottles and really great food.

speaking of meats, I was in an argument on the site earlier on this year with a guy who was saying that McDonald's hamburgers are better than steaks, and he was serious... I then explained that the meat used in hamburgers is the worst cut, and that steaks are usually nicely marbled and from really good parts of the cow, and he said that it's all the same because it's from the same animal

Wow! a keg of Heresy. That`s a little slice of heaven right there.
The first Troegs I ever had was the Troegenator. I was impressed, and after a few, I was lit as well!.... More recently I tried the Nugget Nectar (On tap at Capones). A nicely hopped, more agressive version of their Hop Back Amber. Now that`s a damn good beer!!

Well then he should be fine eating sh!t. Should be careful not to disparage ALL hamburger though, they generally involve chuck, but the good ones have sirloin and other better cuts thrown in as well.

this thread has taken some different tacks in it's life, discussing foods that go with beer, flavoured beer among them.

Don't think there was been any discussions on non-alcoholic beers, so thought I'd try to spur some discussion on it.

I'll start with a beer (non-alcoholic) for DOGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But seriously. Here in Canada I prefer "Presidents Choice Dark Beer" available at loblaws.
