alright this is the one i was really excited about.

luponic distortion revolving hop series (#003!)

apparently this recipe changes every so often and this is the third recipe. they say they're doing different things with the hops or are using different hops or something. but i'm just starting to even know some of the names of different hops so i don't know what they're talking about.

anyway, this is weird because i just recently talked about that grapefruit taste and this beer has none. it's not piney or any of that. it smells like it's going to be and then it just isn't. it's got the bitterness you're expecting and the dryness but it has none of the taste that i normally associate with a hoppy beer. there's a tiny bit of citrus somewhere but like orange or lemon and the main taste is some other kind of fruit that i can't put my finger on. it might even be some kind of melon or something. i'm thinking of a fruit salad so i feel like it's one of those ingredients.

really good taste. very interesting. smooth and easy to drink. it's 5.9% if you're interested in that. i would buy this regularly if they started to carry 6 packs in my store.

9.0 s2tp's

Drinking this right meow. I feel you on the mystery taste - it's citrusy but chalky somehow, minerally? Dunno, but it pretty good. I give it 8.4 s2tp points.

#2 - lots of herbal notes, moderate sourness and salt/brine on the finish. Bottle sure is purdy. 7.9 st2ps.

If you like strong porters you need to try their Baltic Porter if you ever see it. It's top tier

okay. it's pretty dark. the color of a bottle of honey. it also smells like honey, which is a neato trick.

it's pretty good. probably not my favorite kind of beer but i recognize that it's a good solid example of the winter beer thingy.

hideous label but i love the bottle.

I agree with the other reviewers who said this beer isn't very warming. My biggest things with this beer is that it has a wonderful Amber color and a very fresh malt and apple smell, but it also has a strange uneven head with large bubbles. The taste is uniquely English, as I am learning to associate with the fuggles hops, but I just can't not say it is my favorite kind of hops. Perhaps the go,ding hops are what give it the apple thing. I really don't know. At 6%, it's not a bad ABV, but I cannot say I felt the kick of the alcohol. I do like the label to some extent, however, upon further inspection, there is a small picture of a couple sharing the beer after having ski'd that just makes me feel sad. I give it a 72%

so i drank every beer in my house yesterday. clearly this means i need to get to the store.

i know i am grabbing a 6 pack of the sixpoint bengali so i can try that. maybe grabbing the mixed 12 pack of firestone walker again just to get to those 3 luponic distortions. other than that not sure what i'm getting.

this is the 2nd most fun part! i shall report back in time.
