don't you listen to these guys.

none of them have a beer rating system named after them.

alright this is the one i was really excited about.

luponic distortion revolving hop series (#003!)

apparently this recipe changes every so often and this is the third recipe. they say they're doing different things with the hops or are using different hops or something. but i'm just starting to even know some of the names of different hops so i don't know what they're talking about.

anyway, this is weird because i just recently talked about that grapefruit taste and this beer has none. it's not piney or any of that. it smells like it's going to be and then it just isn't. it's got the bitterness you're expecting and the dryness but it has none of the taste that i normally associate with a hoppy beer. there's a tiny bit of citrus somewhere but like orange or lemon and the main taste is some other kind of fruit that i can't put my finger on. it might even be some kind of melon or something. i'm thinking of a fruit salad so i feel like it's one of those ingredients.

really good taste. very interesting. smooth and easy to drink. it's 5.9% if you're interested in that. i would buy this regularly if they started to carry 6 packs in my store.

He needs to recognize his audience. I have no idea what this is. It fails to entertain me. I thought we were all here to make each other laugh?

Recent Boston trip went here:
http://bukowskitavern.net/cambridge/

Had one of these (Flying Dreams Dr Ecquatic):

Pretty good - totally novel hop flavor, like a mild, dry mango-ey flavor and a lot of malt. Would drink again, but probably order something else now that the novelty is off.

One of these (Night Shift Brewing Whirlpool):

Really excellent - pretty dank with significant fruit character but not really sweet. Would def. order again.

And finished with one of these (Blacklash Beer Company Muerte):

Bonus points for gif label. Pretty great dessert beer, just a little sweeter with the hot cocoa than I'd normally like, but the coffee stout-ness finishes it off very clean. Not quite Mikkeller beer geek breakfast stout level, but a fun beer. Would order again.

It was pretty good. I'd predict you'd give it 8 or 8.25 S2TP points.

i gave my first 9+ the other day that wasn't a porter or stout.

it really felt like a monumental occasion.

i had a beer to celebrate it.

Yeah I really want to try to that. I'm in love with Firestone after I had their Wookey Jack

i can't believe how much taste their beers pack. even the ones i think are going to just be okay like the pale 31 or the easy jack. they're all so good.

I haven't been able to find any others around here. I know there's a couple bars that have the Wookey on tap.
