burger priest.. never understood the lineups when it opened. it's only ok.

Burger Priest is far and away the best fast burger place in the city.

If only because they're the only ones who'll make your burger animal style, and with grilled cheese sandwiches instead of buns.

i recommend trying stuff from outside ontario. only great lakes makes a consistently good ipa here. nicklebrook can but they have serious consistency issues

I don't know... never had a problem with Flying Monkeys, Muskoka, GLB, or Mill St... even if you can only get mill st's IPA on tap.

Big fan of Anchor Steam

Had an Innis and Gunn IPA that was pretty good, too... a bit further east than Quebec though

Had the Tropical IPA from Dunham last week.

IPA fermented with brettanomyces claussenii + mango, guava, tangerine and passion fruit. Dry-hopped with Mandarina Bavaria.

Just sad I had it two months too late, but it probably was the best IPA I've had from Quebec. It was up there with the Castor Yakima.

I think that's the one I had at cask days. I don't really consider it a true IPA though, brett IPAs are kind of their own thing (better than IPAs imo). I know its distribution sucks but if you ever have a chance to try Prairie Funky Gold Amarillo or Mosaic I recommend it. Best in the style that I've had. The Amarillo was better than the Mosaic. Both were a month or two old when I had them.

anchor steam is a classic

i like innis & gunn beers more than most but i'd be surprised if their ipa was a west coast style one lol. i remember their stout being a brown ale basically. it was good but i wasn't expecting that
