Yeah a friend from gatineau is checking for seasonal releases and the best ones never make it to Ottawa, or in the best case they have a couple of cases that don't last a day.

But I just saw that by the end of the month LCBO will have Rodenbach Vintage, Smutty Nose Imperial Stout and Dragon's (frank)ing Milk.

- EssuieToutJeune

Yep, I'm really looking forward to that Rodenbach. They didn't get Panil Barique this year so that'll lessen the sting.

Ya, if you're ever in Ottawa just go to that one, it's got everything. If you're taking the bus it's super simple.

Then go to Gatineau at parte de portage to club with the 15 year olds that look like they're 18+.

drinkvine.com is really good for figuring out where stuff is quickly. beats using the lcbo website anyway.

for the most part in toronto summerhill is the place to go though. the laird lcbo seems to be almost on par with summerhill too but it's a bit of a trek.

I always call ahead now with LCBO's when I'm back in Canada. I got burned once when the site said they had 3 bottles of this wine I wanted, went there, it had been sold out for 3 months

The worst is when you go there and they're like "oh yeah, those are on hold for someone". Why the F does it show on the website if it's reserved!

That never happens at Summerhill though. They get like 90% of Ontarios stock at that one store haha. Rochefort 10 will come out and each store will get 48 bottles. Summerhill gets 300+.

Nice. Did Westy come out this year at any LCBO? I remember it did like one year and of course I was a broke student at the time.

It was just a one time thing because they were raising money to upgrade their abbey or something. I got a pack and still have a couple bottles.

Some people say the beers from that pack weren't as good as the regular non labeled ones but they are full of poop I think. Tastes the same or close enough that I can't tell without having both side by side. I don't think the quality went down at all when they increased production that year. It's just snobs being snobs.

Yeah I remember that. That was ridiculous.

I can try to make you feel better by saying it's not any better than Bernardus 12, Rochefort 10, or Achel Extra. Same tier, just different. Which is better depends entirely on preference. It's world class but I'm not convinced it's worth worrying about if you have the beers I listed above available to you.

Yeah, kinda like the Heady Topper. People buy the rarity more than the beer.

It's overhyped, but still not overrated... if it makes sense.

I'd like to try Heady Topper but yep, crazy hard to find. Is it any better than something like Hopslam? I'm guessing it's down to preference only.

I want to try LTM's double IPA eventually too. That's even more impossible to find.
