My sister found the one LCBO in the GTA with Aventinus Eisbock left (Bramladesh where they drink Johnny Walker Red), 17 bottles. She is getting a really sweet H&M gift card for Christmas this year! 30 bucks.

Ok I hope it's the last time I look like I'm bragging, but I also had the Aventinus Edelbrand at the Schneider Weisse Brauhaus. It's a 40% distilled Aventinus, and it's as good as you think it is.

Youd lose 99% of the flavour through the distillation process. Kinda sounds gross if I'm honest.

Well, it's kind of a banana/clove schnapps, which.... does sound gross.

Thought it was pretty great. Keeps a lot of the aroma and enough of the flavour.

The idea of taking away all the delicious flavours of Aventinus and replacing it with a raw alcohol bite just doesn't sound great haha. I'd still try it simply out of curiosity but I think I'd rather just drink an Aventinus beer.

Having a 2010 Rochefort 10.

Did not expect anything, as the last one I had last year was maderized as hell and had to be drainpoured. Thought I'd just make some place in the closet.

No alcohol AT ALL. Two spoons of molasse, one spoon of raisins, one spoon of butter, a bit of coconut (wtf) and rootbeer a surprising amount of carbonation left. And it hasn't warmed yet. Better than the fresh Westy I had a couple of weeks ago.

(frank). And I have no one to share it with

I think the oldest I've had is 3 years or so. I prefer it when it's a bit younger, it seems to have more spice notes. Everything seemed to kind of mellow out in the older bottle.

At the same time I can't vouch for the storage conditions of the bottle so it may not have been aged well.

I had a Magic Hat Wilhelm Scream Pumpkin Ale. It was ok. An average pumpkin ale. I wouldn't buy it again.

LTM's contributions at Cask Days in Toronto

- Kellerbier (unfiltered pilsner)
- Brettwine (american barleywine with brettanomyces)
- Réserve de Noël (extra-strong red lager with Xmas spices, balsam fir and french oak)
- Clear IPA (a very pale but very hoppy session IPA)
- Dixième, Imperial Black Kriek (this is the first and only time that our 10th anniversary brew will be poured outside Québec... It's your only chance! Do not miss it!)

I get that I shouldn't complain, but I'm a bit jealous that we don't have such a cask event in Quebec.
