nice, glad you like it.

as far as porters/stouts that come in under 5.5% go london porter is god-tier. ridiculously good for such a sessionable beer.

- daeth

it really is too. i feel like i could just keep drinking this.

i will definitely be roping off a special spot in the fridge for some of this.

i will definitely try some others because this was delicious and i just read on the back of the bottle that this guy (i think it says anthony) hopes i will enjoy trying all of his fine ales.

London Pride was my go to lighter ale for drinking with friends. Reasonable price.

London Pride is a great session beer too. I like ESB more but it's 6%.

Fullers 1845 though.. I need it. It hasn't been sold here in three years or so. It's so good. It's my favourite regular beer from them by far.

Only ever had it three times. Yummy. LCBO's vary so much in quality, I remember I had to go to a specific one if I wanted to buy any beer that wasn't garbage. The closest LCBO had the smallest vintages section I've ever seen too, it was rubbish. Great if you want to buy lagers and cheap poop.

drinking the dragon's milk now. i like the label. dragon. vintage 2013 and all that bit. like the brewery.

gotta be honest. i'm not enjoying this beer. again, it's probably got at least something to do with the 10%. i could tell by the smell i was in trouble because i smelled too strong of an alcohol aroma. could also just be the "bourbon barrel" thing. there's just a taste going on here that i don't really like. and the aftertaste really is off-putting to me.

you can't say i didn't try.

Yeah, there are like 5 or 6 good LCBOs in Toronto and the rest are useless.

I miss 1845 so much. It showed up multiple years in a row so I kind of took it for granted. I'm buying a case next time it comes here.

Based on reviews it sounds like it's something I'd like. You're not big on high ABV beers though. If you can get a bottle of Peche Mortel and you don't like it I'd probably write off all imperials lol.

i can't find that anywhere.

people look at me like i have three heads when i ask for it.

but, actually i don't even know if it's as much the 10% as the taste i'm not into here. i'm definitely not digging the 10%, but it's more just a taste i don't like.

i always want to say "maybe i got a bad batch" but at $4.47 for one bottle i'm not gonna try it again.

okay. trying the innis & gunn scottish porter.

i don't know anything about a scottish porter, or if that's even really a thing, but this beer poured red. that's not a porter that i'm used to. also had like an inch and a half of light bubbly lumpy head, which is also not something i'm used to seeing with a porter.

it smells sweet. not sure what it reminds me of. says molasses is added but it's not really that. it smells like something else.

really striking out tonight. this beer is also not good. it tastes like a worse version of that old chub scotch ale (tin!) i had last thanksgiving. definitely not a porter. i don't care what the label says (i'm gonna love you, each and every day).

seriously though, it's crap. (frank) this.

i see there's one aged in oak barrels and one aged in bourbon barrels.

maybe you guys had the oak barrels one.

EDIT: nope, they're saying they're the same beer just labeled differently.
