Had a IPA themed blind tasting this weekend, lots of good stuff. Here's the listing :
HOPKINS IPA - Boquébière
VACHE FOLLE DOUBLE IPA ELLA - MicroBrasserie Charlevoix
BORÉALE IPA - Boréale
DISCO SOLEIL - Dieu du Ciel
O-IPA TRIDIMENSIONNELLE - Brasseurs Illimités
LA TRIBUNALE - Trèfle Noire
IPA AMERICAINE - Pit-Caribou
PALE ALE AMERICAINE - Dunham
MORALITÉ - Dieu du Ciel
YAKIMA IPA - Le Castor

Obv it is hard to remember wich flavor is wich beer. But HOLY HOT DAMN the O-IPA Tridimensionnelle is something... out of this world. Had already tasted the Yakima from castor before, and it was nice to drink some again as it is really really good. But not as good as the Tridimensionnelle IMO

Which batch is it? 001, 002 or 003? Should be at the back of the bottle.

My favourite so far was the 001, but they're all great.

- EssuieToutJeune

No clue since I don't have it yet but I'm pretty sure it'll be from a new batch.

my frenchie friend brought me a bottle of that back from montreal a couple of weeks ago, waiting for the right moment to enjoy it
- -davies-

Nice. Have you had any of their other sour ales? They're pretty consistently good so I'm expecting this to be nice too.

Out of the ones I've had on that list Yakima and Moralite are by far the best. They're as good as the best west coast IPAs I've had.

Yes Moralité is good. Yakima rocks, it really is what one would want in a west coast IPA. I urge you to try O-IPA TRIDIMENSIONNELLE from Brasseurs Illimités though, it is also a kickass west coast style, but it is executed so well. The attack is a tad more subtle than Yakima's but very effective, as all the flavors are still strong and extremely well balanced. I actually liked this approach better.

They're the guys who do the Simple Malt beers right? It'll probably be a while before I can get it but I will try it eventually.

Oh yeah. Ohhhhh yeah. Some guys I know who tasted the Heady Topper told me it was probably at least as good.

The brewer confirmed on some beer geeks Facebook group that it'll be added to the regular Simple Malt range

Yep, it's them. It's currently a one-time batch, like their other beers from the alphabetical series. But as I said above people are so crazy about it that they'll brew it again.

So we'll be able to whine that the first batch was better!

Had the Coq last week. Interesting, but the funky side was a bit too strong for my taste. Body was too thin and the cherry aromas were a bit cough syrup-like. Good, bu not on par with their other ones, and not worth the price.

Will probably try to trade the two other ones for a couple of Dixième from LTM.

Speaking of LTM, their DIPA will be released on August 23rd

Is this going to be another one of those "sells out in 15 seconds" type deals at the brewery or is it going to make its way into stores?

First option I think. But they said they'd also have some kegs for bars. No mention of stores.

I hope it makes it here. We get most of their stuff on tap, even their more rare stuff once in a while so we have a slight chance at least lol.

We got their Oud Brun cask & Extra Hop Baltic Porter on cask last October. Mmm.

Had it on tap in Boston last year. One of the best tripels I've tried. Unfortunately wasn't able to find bottles to bring back home.

Just traded two Coq from TDD for a Cuvée des Jacobins, a Nøgne Ø # 100 and a Girardin Black Label. Just finished the Nogne and I don't regret this trade at all.

#100 was pretty good when I had it a year or two ago. It's probably better aged though.
