Trou du Diable are now Quebec's experts in funky beers. Aged in botrytised white wine barrels, this is sour candy. Also got a couple of L'Ours, probably won't reach the spring equinox

i was overwhelmed, couldn't carry a lot so i bought a de dolle small bottle i'd never seen before and a holiday mikkeller that i knew i would never see again

Nice brew kit. Damn I miss home brewing!

If you plan on making any non-dark beers and want to pitch your yeast quickly, invest in a wort chiller. Also, don't use those blue bottles. They let in too much light....bad for the beer.

That's a nice kit ... I'm a fan of the small batch brewing, I pretty much only do 1 or 2.5 gallon batches now. Takes the same amount of time, but ingredients are easier to manage, easier to get your boil going and such esp if you plan on doing it indoors. Plus if it sucks there's less beer to force down and you can always brew it again if its good

Wort chiller for sure was a great investment ... I tried making one and I made a mess of it so wound up spending way more than saving any money When you want to make the jump to All Grain building a little mash tun out of a cooler is a real easy/cheap project and a super useful piece of gear.

Good luck!

Long story short, I pretty much stopped after my daughter was born. I just didn't have the time to kill a whole Saturday brewing. That and I worked a ton of hours then. I found it easier to buy it. I've been itching to get back into it lately. Now that my daughter is older.

Thanks!

I'd like to get off malt kits as soon as I can, but recognize I need to give it a couple batches to reduce the number of things to get used to all at once.

I really like the idea of 1 gallon at a time for so many reasons.

And we have several brewery supply stores around here so I'll be well provisioned - think I got a new hobby to trick out (which I haven't since my bike got exactly how I wanted it.)

Starting simple with an Amber Ale.

Jack's Abbey Hopstitution - big American 2x IPA. Perfectly enjoyable, nothing surprising.

Pretty Things Small Tree American Quad - this on the other hand, not what I expected. Dried fruit up front, dry balsam wood finish that vanishes from your palate. Stupidly drinkable for a quad.
