cuvee van de keizer blauw? i like it enough that i'd consider buying a case just for myself lol. it ages well. where can you buy it?

Some private import agency in Quebec, Bieropholie. We order the case and they send it to our local SAQ. It's pretty neat.

Maybe you could order some if you live near Gatineau.

I don't live anywhere near Quebec but I have a friend who spends a lot of time there. That's his favourite beer too so it probably wouldn't be hard to convince him to get it haha.

Having a Trinqueur by Brasseurs du Monde. A coriander-flavored 9% scotch ale. A bit special, but very good. The coriander aroma and flavour is very present. Burnt caramel is very present, and the candied fruit/coriander finish is surprisingly smooth. This brewery is very, very good.

Also bought their Ale de Hardy, a barley wine. Apparently it's among the best in Quebec.

Yep, it definitely exists, I'm still skeptical this guy is genuine, but the premise is there.

Everything I've had from them has been good but not great. Might be a theme with them.

Though looking at their ratebeer profile I see that I haven't had any of their top rated beers.

Most of their best beers are brewed in very limited quantities, and they only sell it at their brewery in Saint-Hyacinthe. They call this series the "Réserve du Picoleur" (Picoleur being the name of their own pub)

They were in a couple of beerfests this summer and brought 35 different beers, about 20 being from this series. Most of them were very, very good.

I wonder what they will bring to Cask Days. Just based on past experiences and the fact that I can't try an infinite amount of samples without getting tanked I might have to skip them though.

Breweries I really want to try while there:

Charlevoix, Les Trois Mousquetaires, La Castor, Hopfenstark, BDT, DDC, Le Trou Du Diable, Tree Brewing, Central City, Nicklebrook, Flying Monkeys, Beaus, Great Lakes, Thornbridge, Arbor, Beavertown, etc etc etc.

That's already a list of 15. Guys, I might die.

No Charlevoix? Hopefully I'm just overlooking it.

Yakima IPA on cask. It says Yamika but I am sure that's a typo

LES TROIS MOUSQUETAIRES PORTER BALTIQUE EXTRA HOP BALTIC PORTER

My "must try" list is at 30 right now. I want to cut it down to 15 which is still too much.

"Angry Goatface Hop(frank) IPA

Sick of all these weak-ass beers with barely any hop flavor? So are we! That's why the brewers at Angry Goatface made this seriously hoppy IPA - the Hop(frank). It'll (frank) your face with hops. Take a sip -- it's like someone pulling your tongue out of your mouth with a pair of rusty pliers. 90% of you will hate this beer, but 10% of you will love it more than anything else and never shut up about it. That's our promise to you."

My fav is Overrated IPA from Surly.

It’s been said; "It’s easier to brew an extremely hoppy beer than an extremely balanced beer." And you know us, we are always looking for the easy way out, so we jumped on the West Coast IPA bandwagon and brewed this dry and hoppy ale.

Has a 97 rating on ratebeer.
