i love brown ales, hate stupid hoppy versions of them

founder's is generally great, so far the only stinker i have had from them is an anniversary one that was hoppy

I want that Karmeliet glass! I got some bottles of Karmeliet Tripel in September. Good stuff.

I got the Maredsous gift pack last year too. Love their beers. My glass looked different though.

It's an amazing beer but it is a bit overrated due to exclusivity and price. It's widely considered the best beer in the world yet it does not consistently win in blind tastings.

I would not be surprised if I picked St Bernardus 12 as my fav if I did the standard Westy 12, Bernardus 12, and Rochfort 10 blind tasting. It's definitely one of the best beers I've had though.

i have had a few of the packs on pre-order since early this year but all i hear about is delay after delay. they were originally supposed to hit the US in april... i'm not too hopeful i'll ever see it

**i'm reading a discussion thread on beer advocate where they're saying it's being released on 12/12/12

it looks like according to this little article (if its true) that Total Wine monopolized the release and got exclusive rights. Fukin bastards!

Ours is supposed to arrive in stores the 10th and then potentially take a few days to hit the shelves but who knows.

Doesn't really matter to me since if I do get a pack I'll just age all of them anyway. I don't care if it ages at my house or their warehouse.

Not really. Whatever comes out will have been made this year. Westy 12 does well with a couple years on it, apparently.

It's showing up in the system here at least.
