I want to try that stout. I had their barley wine last week at least. It was pretty damn tasty.

Wow very strong Bier. I only bought it because it was labeled as a perfect 100 at the liquor store I bought it at. I didn't like the first taste but It got better and better as the bottle went on. Has a very malty and sweet taste. At 14% alcohol you can feel the effects after only one bottle. Too bad I only had one but at $7 a bottle that's all I wanted to buy. Anyways everyone should try it atleast once. Some beer sites say its one of the rarest beers so if you see it you may want to grab it.

Pretty sure I had that one this year, assuming that's their Doppelbock they had at the LCBO. Looks like the same bottle but I'm not 100% sure. Not bad at all.

yeah, i abstained tonight.

i was on the verge of sleep before any booze. having anything at all would probably have put me to sleep before i finished it. Trois Pistoles is right around 9%, Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout is 10%.

Brooklyn Monster Barley Wine was very tasty...my buddy had a growler of it for the Super Bowl. i love me some barley wines. currently have two 2012 Sierra Nevada Bigfoots aging in my cellar. i want to get a Southern Tier Backburner this year and age it for probably 4-5 years. same for Bigfoot. try to knock out some of the really hoppy notes from both.

has anybody had Weyerbacher's Insanity or Blithering Idiot?

When a company describes their beer as tasting "smooth", "crisp", etc they lose me right away.

Had a bad batch late last year (or was it early this year? lol) and almost gave up on it. I'm glad I didn't. Tasty little devils.

This stuff is good. Kind of like Rikard's White but I prefer it over White.

I love WR brews. Their IPAs do make you pretty gassy. I actually like the Wraspberry Ale a lot.

Had this for the first time in a year. I've had a double dry hopped version on a few occasions on cask since then but that doesn't count.

Before I recall it being more of a standard APA but with a bit of a sweet booziness to it that didn't work great with the style. Now it's almost like a mild black IPA. Quite a bit of roasted malts to go with the hops. It also sort of has that weizenbock aftertaste (yeast+wheat I suppose it is) which is interesting considering it's not a wheat beer. It's closer to what it's like on cask now, although the double dry hopped cask version is still way better.

Have you tried Southern Tier's Mokah yet? It's being released here soon and I'm just curious if it's as good as the ratings suggest.

A friend brought me one of these last night. Smells and tastes like a standard IPA to me. I thought once it warmed up I could smell a bit of pineapple but I'm thinking maybe I was just looking for it too much and it was all in my head lol. Seemed to have a bit of a metallic finish otherwise it's great.

I'd probably give it a 7/10
