That's their wet hopped IPA is it? I hope we get it here eventually. Thornbridge makes great beers. Jaipur, Bracia, and Kipling are all great.

Once you start getting into small towns you're usually stuck with Canadian, Blue, and junk like that. I move on to scotch, gin, or similar in those cases. I honesty can't bring myself to drink awful beer.

they have pretty decent selections, just didn't get the specialty I&Gs this year.

They had a mini keg of LB pale ale.

Just got back from a week in Key West where I drank all the poopty beer I could handle. I had a Bells Oberon that was the highest quality by far, but in 90 degrees and 90% humidity you don't find yourself pining for complexity.

Not my fav but definitely drinkable. I'd grab a bunch of those and be happy if they were my best option.

You must not have been in the middle of nowhere. It gets much worse than that when you are.

edit: by bunch i mean however many needed. didn't notice you said mini keg lol.

Whoa whoa whoa. I can be literally dying of thirst and I'll still grab the best tasting beer available. I do tend to lean towards the more citrusty hop beers in the summer but maximum flavour is still what I go for. If that's not possible then more often than not I'll opt for juice or water.

lol I love pretending my opinions are the correct ones.

It's Budweiser as far as the eye can see there. So you'd be drinking a to of juice..and when you're hanging out with my brother in law for a week, juice isn't an option.

Had a Fin Du Monde for the first time. Decent wheat beer, nothing too out of the ordinary. Don't notice the high ABV until the finish then you get the nice warm alcohol burn at the end.

I don't think there's all that much wheat in la fin du monde. It's a belgian tripel in style and it's usually mostly (often only) belgian pilsner malt used for that kind of beer.

Useless beer fact #2412

I Love La Fin Du Monde though. Great stuff.

Huh, interesting ... I would've bet money it was primarily wheat malt. The more you know

I don't really get any wheat from it personally but I could be wrong. Don De Dieu is kind of like a wheaty La Fin Du Monde though. Somewhat similar taste but leans more towards a weizenbock or strong hefe than a Belgian ale imo.

Charlevoix may be the best brewery in Canada for Belgian type beers. It's weird how unknown they are. I guess it's because most of their beers can't be found outside Quebec.

I wish I had another bottle for myself even

For anyone near Gatineau this place should still have some. They have most of the hard to find Quebec beers. It's a bit pricey but their selection is nice.
