i find it's best to have no more than two IPAs when out for drinks or else your tongue just goes into hop overload.

I also have a headache.. and overall feel like poop. No idea how that happened.. lol.

Worst beer on the night was Sawdust City How Do You Say Monkey In Latin? Dubbel IPA. I don't know why but it was basically undrinkable to me. It almost tasted like pretzels or something.. but maybe that was just me being drunk and stupid.

Bars around here generally have pretzels there to snack on...are you sure one of your buddies didn't chuck a nasty bar-pretzel into your glass?

Don't think they'd do that to my beer lol. I'm not really sure what it was though. I've read reviews on ratebeer/beeradvocate and nobody else mentions anything like that.

I'm just going to go with my taste buds being dead at that point even though everything else still tasted good....

That was my first beer I've ever actually returned to the bar after a few sips lol. It offended me.

Very good scotch ale. It has just the right amount of booziness to it too. I am kind of disappointed when a scotch ale lacks that.

Plums, sweet caramel malt, booze, honey, maybe a touch of smoke. Fairly creamy too.

edit: wish I could get this beer here. A friend brought me a couple from Quebec and I'm finishing my last one now.

I don't think we can legally import beer here. We have to go through the LCBO or another importer who does that for you if we want to. Basically it's impossible :/

Is that the place? Looks pretty cool. Hopefully in the future we'll have things like that here. I'd love that.

We might actually have some here I just haven't looked it up. It's just really complicated here. When I was reading up on our import laws a year or so ago I noticed that technically it's not even legal to ship beer from outside the province to here. It's crazy.

This is the only info I could really find outside of a few sketchy looking websites that claim to offer beer of the month club stuff. That's a reeeeeally old thread so who knows if things have changed.

Nope, SAQ in Quebec. One of my old friends from high school lives out there now and since he likes good beer we do beer trades whenever we see each other, which is quite often.

It's an insanely good beer though. I have their 10 as well. Without having both side to say it's hard to say but I think it's pretty much on par with the St Bernardus beers which is one of my favourite breweries in the world.

I think I've only a seen it at the beerbistro, and it's pricey... And I'm not the biggest Belgian fan... Really the only one that comes to mind that I like is affligem blonde.

Affligem make good beers. Their dubbel and tripel are especially great. Super affordable too.

The Rochefort 8 and 10 are both around $4 a bottle at the SAQ I think. Not bad.
