I probably don't have a good concept of what's cheap anymore but if I'm gong to a shindig I find Aventinus works for me. Three to four of those on a night and I don't want more. That's a little less than $9-12. It's also a world class beer so it's perfect for me.

edit: works out to about $1.23 per 5% 341ml (12oz) beer equivalent.

I'm talking 48 hours of near non-stop drinking.

I don't really do that anymore. It only happens when one of my friends from high school visits. Don't know why it happens but I morph into frank the tank when he's around.

So, I went to this Russian healer lady on monday, and man, that was a freaky experience... she claims to look at your aura and heals you through magic or something, but man, she was (frank)ing accurate, it was pretty impressive.

But yea, one of the things she said was that I should slow down with the drinking.

She must've noticed your stale beer breath, bloodshot eyes, and withdrawal shakes lol.

edit: which reminds me. I love the name of this beer (was a winter release at the LCBO.. good too)

She nailed a few other things too, I'm really interested in how she does it.

Not my top choice in beer, but I didn't mind it. Had it a while ago at the Bier Markt... I'm just not a fan of the belgian-style drinks.

How many things did she get wrong? She probably just has a list of things she says that would be true with most people. That or it's voodoo.

Honestly? Maybe one thing wrong, 3 specific things right, and a couple of things that could be guessed by looking at me, and a couple of kinda generic things.

milk stouts are made with lactose - milk sugars. makes some people fart like a sumbytch.

i'm not lactose intolerant, but milk stouts certainly do hit me.

this was a bit sweeter than i like, as far as beers go, but was a good beer nonetheless. certainly kicked my ass the next day...if ya know what i mean...

i like playing with him.

he hates me because i believe in a creator, think there's more beyond this life AND understand scientific theories and i think it's funny.

I don't hate you, I just don't think you're very smart.

And I can understand why you would dislike Star Trek. It's all about humanity rising above its primitive origins and using reason and compassion to improve society while exploring the galaxy in the name of science.

To BOLDLY go where no man has gone before.

That is bold enough.

I totally saw that post and would of gladly made some positive comments, however some of the frequent posters of this thread seem to feel that "hoppy beers" have no place among the ranks of their particular style of choice.

hophead is a mutant

he's turned your distaste for hoppy beers into some thread-wide anti-hops conspiracy

I, for one, believe in the market place of ideas. THE (frank)ING MARKETPLACE OF IDEAS, x-tian. Peeps need to evolve.

Had a New Holland Dragon's Milk a couple of weeks ago

Really good, not too sweet, but still a nice kick of black chocolate.

My favourite milk stout remains the Vache Folle Milk Stout, by Charlevoix (the same who brews the Lupulus). Freaking tasty

They just started bottling their Rye PA. I love it, like all their other IPAs.

Have a bottle of that Vache Folle in the fridge I've yet to try out. Glad to hear good things.

i will try these other milk stouts.

new holland makes my favorite beer ever. southern tier's 2x stout was just okay to me, but i'll try that other one by them.

i've never seen that third one.

i don't know how my beliefs equal a lesser intelligence, but have it your way.

i think it's funny that you tear me down for believing in a creator (or make the correlation that my belief in a creator makes me a 5 inch step above retard status) yet your depreciation thread is covered in superhero tributes. i'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, just that it seems a little childish. this is, however, the internet so anything goes.
