The LCBO needs more lambics! That Italian beer (Panil) I've mentioned in here several times is close but it's still not quite the same.

I remember seeing the pricing for private orders of Cantillon (don't remember which one specifically) several years back though. It was something like $70 for a case of 12. The bottles were small too.. 375ml or similar. Ouch. I'd still do it

I hadn't heard of Tilquin until now. It sounds like it's pretty darn good. I wish they sold it here. Lambics are great. Even the cherry Mort Subite I have is ok even though it's flavoured. It's more of a drink for people who don't like beer and prefer mixed drinks with juice but it's still enjoyable.

made my own six-pack at a local bottle shop. lagunitas sumpin sumpin is always good. also had bell's cherry stout tonight (only because the wife didn't like it). certainly won't be drinking that again.

Pops signed me up for beer o the month, had my first bottle tonight. Wolters Fest-Beir, a lighter take than the Marzen styles you usually see for Fest beers, crisp sharp and biscuity. Quite nice.

I've come to the conclusion that La Fin Du Monde is just Westmalle Tripel without the bitterness.

I had a Westmalle Tripel and La Fin Du Monde in that order tonight.

Westmalle has a bit more going on in it but the similarities are striking to me. Not just because of the style similarities either. I picked up a lot of similar flavours despite the fact that Westmalle has more of a peppery hop finish while La Fin Du Monde has more of a sweet fruity finish.

I wonder if you'll get the same results. I just noticed it now and I've been drinking both relatively regularly when available.

Derniere Volonte is on tap at the only cafe again. My god why can't I stop drinking this lol.

$7 per tulip/snifter and it still seems like a good deal.

Just wondering, did you have la fin cold? did you disrupt the sediment?

La fin du Monde is a beer on lees and is meant to have the sediment stirred prior to pouring.

I almost always have some in the house. Generally speaking I either have it at celler temperature or if it's been in the fridge I sip slowly so I drink most of it as it warms up. As far as the yeast goes it depends. I've had it without pouring the last tiny bit in so the yeast doesn't get mixed in but I prefer to do it like a hefeweizen and I usually pour the yeast in too. Just a personal preference. You're not supposed to do that though. I don't really care what you're "supposed" to do when the way I like it tastes better to me though lol.

It was epic. Oak aged Arrogant Bastard was in particular just amazing.
