FINALLY getting to try the gooseberry grozet historic ale

i'm not sure if i'm pleased or sad it's so similar to the heather. a little fruitier i guess. i really thought it was going to be way different.

I had a friend in college, Skippy Tyson (lol), his parents owned Tyson Chicken...anyway, he was a member and each month he would have little beer tastings at his house.

It is a quality organization....granted, it was also 1998, a lot can change.

Fraoch is a bit sweet with a herbal tea-like dry finish. Grozet just tastes like a lightly fruit flavoured lager. It has very little going for it imo.

Alba (the pine one) is really good. It's kind of like a wee heavy with something herbal going on in the background. Interestingly enough real pine has much less of a piney flavour than chinook hops lol.
