I had a great time my last visit down south. Tried a huge variety of stuff...mostly stouts and bitters and the odd red but I was super impressed. Serious quality. Admittedly I had to stop a few times on the 12 hr drive back but well worth it.

Dave, I drank these with my fish tacos before I went and watched Goon last night. Possibly my favorite one yet. Looking forward to trying some more German varieties.

It was delicious. im hardly an expert but I guess I would say, umm, strong but kinda smooth at the same time, no aftertaste and for some reason two didn't make me feel full at all. The $8 per price tag is a bit steep but then again, I live in The Peoples Republic Of Canada.

bar. 'gastro pub', as they refer to it. My city is only 100 000 people so places with selections of intnl. beers are in short supply. (read: there is one.)

I had some Great Lakes Brewing Pompous Ass (cask) tonight. It was billed as an English Pale Ale but it was packed with cascade hops or something else grapefruity lol. Wtf. It was basically an APA with low carbonation. Not sure why it's an English Pale Ale at all. It was still good but I wasn't expecting that. Why is everything full of hops even when the style doesn't call for it?
