this beer is freaking ridiculous.

it's got tons of chocolate flavor all through it, but none of the crazy sweetness i thought it would have. there's a touch of sweetness, though. this is definitely a dessert beer.

will definitely buy again.

how does it compare to that young's chocolate beer you guys have me drinking?

nice.

that Southern Tier beer uses bittersweet Belgian chocolate.

p.s. - i am down to my last few sips and am working on a pretty sweet buzz. i'm not a big drinker and this stuff is 10%.

i have been finding that the really really strong beers are kind of too strong. like the alcohol overpowers the taste of the beer and i don't enjoy it as much.

could just be the ones i have tried so far though.

the alcohol does tend to overpower with some, but i don't let it bother me. i used to feel the same with alot of wines out there.

so i am trying this verboten again.

it's different, but i like it.

not sure i could sit and drink a bunch of them but i guess a lot of these beers are like that. i guess what's going on is that if i'm going to enjoy these good beers i'm supposed to shed my drinking problem and not think i'm going to sit and drink 6 or 7 of them.

i like mostly cabernet sauvignon. i don't drink anything expensive though. pretty sure i never bought a bottle over 18 or 20 bucks. mostly all 10 or 15 dollar bottles.

i even found a shiraz i like and i don't think i liked most of those. this one is called raw power and it's actually pretty good. i have a bottle in my kitchen right now.

EDIT: oh, i recently discovered malbecs too. they were pretty good.

never actually tried malbec. been a while since i've had wine and frankly, i've been too beer-snobby lately.

i think you'd find it pretty different but i wouldn't be surprised at the rate you're going if you found yourself liking it in a year or so...

i'm trying the yards now. it's nothing fancy from what i understand.

i have 4 to try and i went with the brawler first because i think it's the lowest abv out of the 4.

it's okay. kind of meh after drinking the weyerbacher obviously but it's good beer i guess.

sapphire is my favorite. i also like tanqueray 10 and tanqueray.

i sometimes get on a kick where i like beefeater or the regular bombay.

i guess you could say i like to keep some around.

that's the raw power wine in the back there.

it used to be a little hard to find here but now it's everywhere. i'm sure you have it there in any big liquor store. it's only like 11 bucks. give it a shot next time you need a bottle of wine.

i like this bogle cabernet sauvignon too. pretty sure that's under 15 bucks. there are two of them hidden back there in the pic too.

onto the yards pale ale now. or "philadelphia pale ale" to be exact.

extra special pale ale now.

this one is supposedly way stronger than the other two but i can't tell by the taste which i think is a good thing.

it's my favorite of these yards beers so far. a little more bitter thna the other two and i think i like that.

i guess these are actually pretty good for just some brewery right over the bridge there.

edit to my last post:
onto the IPA now.

this says it's 7% and i'm used to drinking like 5% or even lower. i have to admit they do a good job of hiding the alcohol taste.

i may just be starting to get a little drunk, but this one tastes a little soapy to me? if that makes sense.

this one isn't my favorite out of this variety pack but i guess it's okay.

it smells like poop, but one of the others smelled like cologne so i guess it cancels out.
