Very unusual. I can't imagine that sentiment is very widespread though. Could've just been the area you were in. Lager being a womans drink used to be a popular thought there, but now I think lager has surpassed ale as the #1 beer in the UK by a mile lol. Go figure.

It's on sale at the LCBO right now until the 27th. 40 cents off per bottle. Just a heads up for those in Ontario. I picked up a couple recently.

There's a bit of a bitter dark chocolate/coffee finish to it for sure. Not too much different than most tasty stouts really. The chocolate is more obvious in the smell than the taste, imo.

Had one of these tonight. I haven't had one in a while. I was nicely reminded of how good it actually is. It's better than pretty much any authentic abbey tripel. I love that it's reasonably priced here too. Makes buying it over the others in that style that much easier.

Had another one tonight while watching the game

I might as well pick up a 6 pack of their entire available lineup for variety. The beauty of it is even if I don't drink them for a while they'll improve over time. Can't do that with hoppy beers!

not sure. The bottle just says high IBU's. I'm guessing around 80-100 range.
