What goes with Beer and victory? Pizza of course.
Whenever the Senators score 6 goals at home (and win) the ticket stubs can be turned in at Pizza Pizza for a free slice of the worst pizza in the world.

So whenever the Senators have scored 5 goals, the "pizza, pizza" chant starts. This is realy sick IMO because the ticket stub would probably taste better than the pizza. I stole this info from Doppleganger on another thread, cause I'm too lazy to type it myself,Heh Heh. Probably too much Pizza, Beer and Victory this season.

You're so right about Pizza Pizza's so-called pizza ... real nasty ...

I bet people eat it just because it's free, Taco Bell certainly isn't the best taco, but free tastes good, particularly if it means your team won big. Long live the Beer Thread!!!

Dude, I went to the Senator's season opener, and 6 goals were scored................but I did NOT turn in my stub for anything that night.

BTW have anyone ever been to Oktoberfest in Munchen?????
They serve great food there (in the beer tents) including gebratenes Huhn, rasiertes Radieschen, alle Arten von Würsten, Pommes-Frites mit mayonaise and they even have Roated-Schwein auf einem Spieß right in the tent.

And of course Wiener schnitzel.

If you love beer, and beer festivals, you have to go to Munchen for Oktoberfest once in your life. It is the "Mecca" for beer lovers.

I've been twice, and have plans to go at least once more.

Never been, but it's high on my list, German food is very underrated. Most people think of Brats etc, they have some good stick to your ribs food. Not for the dieters though!

Most tourists to Munchen go to the Hofbraushaus. It is the typical German beerhall, and they serve great food.

just check their menu.

I especialy recomend the Leberkäse.

Never heard of any here (doesn't mean squat) I only know Labatt, what imports do you speak of? If it's from a major US beer company I'll second that!

I didn't get touse my ticket stubb that night either. I coud go for one or two Wiener schnitzel and a large cold one before the big game tonight, but it looks like BBQ steaks and a couple Bitbugers to wash it down with. Bitte ein Bit, Germany's #1 Imported Draft beer. Das Ist Spezza.

In an attempt to make the "Beer Thread" the BEST thread ever, I would like to ask our American friends about "Tailgating".

We in Canada are over regulated by our many levels of government, so "Tailgating" as you know it is NOT allowed in Canada. We see it on TV and the partying before sporting events look like the best fun ever.

So please share you "Tailgating" stories with us.....BEER, FOOD, BBQ etc.

I meet some Pittsburghers (Pittsburghians??) at bike week in Daytona a couple of months ago, and they told me about the loss of the parking lot downtown at the Stadiums where they used to tailgate before baseball and football games...............and how this has pissed a lot of fans off.

Here in Ottawa, tailgating is not allowed in the parking lot at the Senator games, but they have set up a Beer tent,a nd music stage out in front of the Scotiabank place.................but this is not "tailgating".

Love tailgating, there is not much at the Sabres games because the parking is spread out and for the most part it's too cold. But Bills games are another thing. Leave at 9:00 AM drink and eat until 12:15 head into the game come out after and start again until the traffic clears. Good fun, drunken women in uniforms, can't beat it.

Exactly. Get there at about 10ish, open up the tailgate... get out the grill and cook up some of everything.

You can basically just walk up to anyone's vehicle, start a conversation... before you know it you're giving eachother beers and trading burgers for chicken wings.

Always a pre-game and post-game party.

Waughhhhhhhhh

Tailgating rocks, man. Nobody really tailgates at pro sports games in the LA area, we save that for college football. There's nothing like a 1pm gametime game, you show up at 10am, start eating and drinking, hanging out with everyone, meeting new people. Great times.

ive tailgated in canada. not for a sporting event or concert, but i was there doing it non the less. sorry about disrespecting your laws.

anyways its my favorite type drinking activity. well one of my favorite. outside with a few buddies and a few gals, listening to loud music and yelling with other groups about you team or the concert. you can walk around and talk to anyone you want and people are usually receptive cause youre all there for the same thing

last summer darien lake allman brothers concert (they actually opened for tom petty, but we know who the real heroes are) was one of the craziest ones ive ever seen. tons of people, beer and weed. absolute hedonism.

Two of the best free concerts( or even ones I paid for) I ever saw were Derrick Trucks Band at the Canal two years ago and Warren Haynes (Government Mule) at the waterfront last year, put those two together on the same stage and that my friend is what real hereos are made of!

Along with beer, sold at Hockey Arenas, I guess Hot dogs would be the next most popular item sold. The dogs in Ottawa are nothing to brag about.............my favourite were the ones sold at Expos games in Montreal.

Chili dawgs with Cheese would be one of my favourites, also Hot Dogs covered with sauerkraut.
