No, I referenced a reliable source that said he felt he had good intentions. Why are you having such difficulty with this? Same nonsense as on the other thread. Come up with something new. - MJL
Well of course he had an agenda. Not everything someone does, regardless of his reputation has evil intent. His agenda could literally have been what he said. To get the know his players better and form relationships. - MJL
who were you referencing? seems like bs to me. |

You have not answered them and of the two questions posted one i did not ask before. - Peter Richards
Yes I have. You are not making a good faith effort to have a conversation. You literally condescendingly posted if we should take the word of the players I listed and the GM. Without considering if the same would apply to the accusers.

What was meant by that line is if the only way younger players are evaluated for an NHL roster spot was the rookie game, no Flyer participating in the game, including Desnoyers and Foerster, would make the big club. In other words, no Flyer really played that well. Now Wisdom and Brown played well, and there were moments from other young players, but overall players like Desnoyers and Foerster needed to show more, which means they better show up this week for the rest of rookie camp and the start of the main camp. - jd250
If you were one of those 2 guys....would you risk an injury going hard in a mean nothing exhibition game right before the real camp opens and miss out on the spot and money of the NHL? Neither guy looked bad, there was a noticable lack of effort at times, but all things considered, nothing to worry about. Chris Therien on Snow the goalie was saying Forester looks like a man among boys at the rookie camp, has put on like 10 lbs of muscle to his frame, and has been in Philly all summer with trainers and nutritionalists to get him prepped for the NHL.
The rookie games mean nothing in the bigger picture. |

The rookie games mean something if this kid has a so so camp. It’s all about the body of work. Main camp and pre season mean significantly more, but it’s not nothing |

Haven't read all the details on the Babcock situation, but I will say this.
It is remedial Management 101 to not ask/talk about employees family unless they initiate it.
Really simple stuff from management books written in the 1980s. |

Didn't have to say it. If you realized that the same would apply to the accuser. You wouldn't have made such a stupid comment.
Same way you tried to bring Fletcher into it and tried to use that he was a bad GM as a reason why a GM wouldn't be considered a reliable source. Without realizing that the reason why the Columbus GM is a reliable source is because he was actually present at an interaction with the coach where pictures were exchanged. In the same way if we were looking at details of what happened with an interaction when Fletcher was present. He would be a reliable source on that. Regardless of his ability as a GM. Another illogical question asked by you. |

incorrect, i didn't say or imply it, but i'll take that as you admitting you're wrong.
He is the gm, he had a political answer.
GM Jarmo Kekalainen said Mike Babcock did the phone thing with him as well. “Personally I had no problem with it but I can see how it might put someone in an uncomfortable situation.”
the point that you didn't get is they are GM's. What their job entails and the pr aspect for their organizations.
They also came out and said they got the hire wrong with Babcock and admitted fault. You left that out. but can also be viewed as pr as well. |

Might be just me, but that press conference reminded me of POW's reading prepared statements written by their captors.

Surely good news, but I am most certainly in a wait and see mode when it comes to the health of both of them.

He studied the youngest players (mind games in their minds) phones the longest. (According to many sources). The youngest players than called the rocket scientist Bissonette for the scoop. |

Gilbert Dionne we hardly knew ya! That would be a good trivia question to see how many folks remember that he was the "other" player that came over in the trade that netted the Flyers Desjardins and LeClair. It sure would be nice to have a season to look forward to. It really is getting old to not be excited about the coming season cause you know they have ZERO chance of making the playoffs. I don't even know when the regular season starts cause it's just not that exciting when you have a bottom feeder team yet again. This has to stop soon! Another season of people whining when they win (should be tanking) and whining when they lose (cause they look awful on the ice). Thanks for nuttin! - Phillywhiteout
I remember Gilbert Dionne pretty well too. I remember he played with a very long stick and remember hearing the Flyer coaches tried to get him to switch to a shorter stick. I believe he was a big scorer in junior but it never translated to the NHL.
I’ll put up with the rebuilding results as long as the effort is there and I can see 4+ young players developing. I has very hopeful early in the Hextall years but it died off after the young player never developed and several draft mistakes ( Rubstov, Patrick, Ratcliffe, Jay O’Brien and Laberge) especially top two rounds.
Except the 2019-2020 team that reached the 2nd round the last decade has been one of the franchise’s worst runs. It’s definitely been tough to stay a Flyers fan but I’m hopeful Jones and Briere along with Torts turn things around. I’m am feeling better with this new group.
