No. But they thought and hoped Dionne could be a 25-30 goal winger based off his rookie season with Montreal. LeClair was brought in to be a forechecking presence who was versatile (could play LW or C) and they thought could bring occasional offense. Turned out they had a 50-goal winger who had been underused in Montreal.

Again, I dont think Babcock has any clue how to interact with people on a human level. In his mind that could have seemed completely normal.
