Probably not. It's a disservice to the fans to rely on leaks rather than making a statement with some detail. They can do that without naming the players. Maybe there are some contractual reasons why. I'm sure they made a deal with Babcock that could involve an NDA with both sides.

I base my opinions on the available information that I have. I was not present at any of the meetings with the players and Babcock. If that is true, I would say no. It was not proper. However, that is hearsay. The GM is on the record as saying he thought Babcock's intentions were genuine.
