What a difference between how Sweden actually listens to their players and puts their welfare first compared to how the Soviet Union part 2 treats them like commodities. - BiggE
Yeah,I think you can attribute that to cultural differences and norms. Swedes are open minded, naive and have a more positive outlook toward humanity. Russians are more like Americans the way they’re jaded and cynical. Swedes and Americans like when people smile. Russians are suspicious when you smile.

A time when the Flyers made the same mistakes that they do now, but at least back then it was easier to fix using money because there was no cap. - Glak18
I also feel like the star power was much stronger back then. Not just in Philly but across the league. The skill level is undoubtedly higher today but most of the big names felt like household names back then. It’s kind of the point I was making last week that it seemed like every team had a dynamic duo, even if the team was bad. You lost one star, you could always trade for another or sign one in the offseason due to no cap, if your team could afford it out of pocket. By the early 2000’s that changed. The Flyers, Aves, Rangers or Wings collected as many stars as they could. The Rangers were the worst at it, not that we were anymore successful. |

Bad play calling. Swift 4 touches all good, so let’s stop using him. Beginning of NFL season is always sloppy |

Why is our offense all bunched up?
Steichen had them way more spread out. Do that. |

Can’t say his start is inspiring much confidence. |

Correct. And it is clear that opposing defenses have seen something in his tape and are doing a lot of disguising/pre-snap looks and it is working big time. |

Natural, Hurts star status, use him, but running the ball will always set up the rest of the O |

Run it down their throat….let your o line get into a rhythm. First impresssivevthing I’ve seen out of the new coordinator that I liked. |

Problem is, that drive took 8 minutes. Good if you are ahead like last year. But good teams are absolutely going to carve up our middle of our D with intermediate passes and score much quicker. Already Hockenson has 10 catches!
And once you are behind, that run game strategy goes out of the window.
Then what? |

Cool story, bro.
I am seeing a qb who is repeatedly failing to make correct reads and repeatedly being baited into mistakes. They just showed him look at a single safety that morphed into cover 2 and he fell for it and threw an INT. Last game he saw a DE rush sownfield and he called a run read in that direction and did not see LB and CB do a run rush as well. Goedert had no one in his time zone.
The only hope is he plays himself out of it. But that rarely happens within a NFL season.
Early season predictions: 11-6 to 10-7 with bad losses against top teams. Hurts out of top 10 in MVP votes. |
