When you see the potential bottom 6 wrote out like that.....I dont know, man...I dont know....not instilling a load of confidence in this guy hahaha....and there's no sign of Crater there in that....he'll probably be there....
- MattStrat

I never said it was good haha. Just working with what's available. And yea probably replace Nylander with Crater.

ugh

...and I didnt mean your ideas weren't good, I meant the combination of players available, no matter how it all forms, doesn't instill a load of confidence in me hahah

Gotcha haha, yea it's not that great. We really need Poulin to pick up where he left off so we at least have a start to a 3rd scoring line.

I would personally put Accari as the 3c and Eller the 4c if we're trying to make a third scoring line and a 4th defensive line. I would try this in preseason:
Poulin-Accari-Nylander
Doc-Eller-Nieto.
If Poulin can play C then I'm trying him there as well.

Let's put DOC back at center for a younger 4th line and throw the third line out for every defensive draw lol
Nieto Eller Acciari
Nylander DOC Puustinen

For this camp/preseason I'd be more interested in seeing Poulin center an offensive line. DOC I think is good defensively, he just doesn't seem to score.

Edit: Poulin may not work, but just try it. I'm even interested in Pustinen as well.

Who’s your 3rd line then? Let me guess Guentzel is a center now too?
- Feds91Stammer

Well Guentzel was a center his entire life so I’m not convinced he couldn’t do it. But first thing you have to do is stop type casting players. I would start by throwing guys with speed in the top six and seeing if they can compliment a line and allow players with more natural scoring ability to drop down. If it doesn’t work then you have to assemble lines with an identity. The blanket statement of play with speed can’t be your team’s identity when you’re not fast and don’t have players with the skill set to move the puck around like lightning. getting back to a cycle game in the bottom six and creating from that would be a step in the right direction.

hahaha this is funny but true....I think the problem here is that whoever the 3rd pair RD is will have to be a competent PKer with the other two slots being Tanger and EK....EK isnt going to be killing penalties. POJ is a left...Smith played LD pretty damn good last season even though he's a righty...

If all the D is healthy one of POJ or Smith wont be playing on opening night.

- MattStrat

He’s a lefty who also plays on the right.
